    I'm a Floridian that has a dear close friend that lives in Australia. So, we go back and forth to see each other. I love Australia and when I arrive there, I go to Coles or Woolworths (grocery stores) and load up on groceries. I always get the Tim Tams in Strawberry and chocolate. She brought me a Australian book of slang words to help me before I went there the first time. I noticed the most popular used phrase there to be, "No worries". They also have the best burgers and free range eggs in the world. I also look forward to my morning brekkie (breakfast) and long blacks (strong coffee). Another little fun fact is... Shrimp on the Barbie became popular in America from a Paul Hogan tourism commercial and not said there. I LOL at the Vegemite section. It's a required taste and you only use a small amount. I put it on toast very sparingly.

    For all those non Australians, this is how you eat vegemite, 1, spread lightly on a piece of toast or on a cracker. Do not eat plain!! It also tastes good with butter. It’s actually really good, people think it’s bad because they see others and thus don’t eat it properly so of course it would taste weird! Also I loved this video!!

    Speaking as Australian who doesn't like Vegemite in general. I only eat it one way, you toast your bread, spread the Vegemite on it and top with a thick layer of Cottage Cheese. For best effect we have a variety called Creamed Cottage Cheese. 2 of my Nephews who wouldn't eat Vegemite for years came to our place for a visit. Their Dad was a Vegemite fanatic who used to slather it on. Anyway I gave them some Vegemite and Cottage Cheese to try and they were hooked. We were going through Cottage Cheese like it was going out style. People complain that Cottage Cheese is too bland and Vegemite is too Strong. But put them together and they balance each other out. I think it's heaven.

    Cheezles. I'm a 15 yo Aussie kid. Whenever we get Cheezles, they go straight onto the fingers. TIm Tams. The Murray River caramel, the caramel would've been made in the Murray River region, which separates the states of Victoria and NSW. Minties. You take them out of the wrapper, straighten out the wrapper and start to tear it along the sides, turning when you get to a corner on the wrapper. Aussie aussie aussie.
    Also... never, I mean never, say put a shrimp on the barbie. Paul Hogan started that, and we never say it here
    Another thing, tIm Tams. Not tAm Tams.

    I love Vegemite, on a slide of a toast bread you spread butter or margarine and Vegemite. I'm Mexiocan and I was a Rotary exchange student in Australia. Vegemite is an acquired taste. The first time I tried it I spread a thick layer of Vegemite, I thought it was like Nutella, oh my gosh! tears camedown from my eyes It was so disgusting once I put it in my mouth.... one month later I was eating Toast with Vegemite like any Australian :)

    I worked out the best way to eat Vegemite. Mix 1/4 vegemite with 3/4 butter in a bowl and then apply it to hot toast. If you just apply them separately then the butter will soften the top layer of toast and when you apply the vegemite it rips up the top layer. So it’s best to mix them together and then apply. It is very delicious.

    If you have any Tim Tams leftover, you need to try the ‘Tim Tam Slam’, step 1• take a small bite of two opposite corners of the TimTam , use the Tim as a straw to sip a hot coffee or hot chocolate through the biscuit, the hot coffee will melt the insides of the Tim Tam and while it’s melting eat the Tim Tam before it disintegrates

  • @deuscartel
    @deuscartel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you still have Tim Tams left... highly doubt it 😉 do the following:
    1. Small bite into each opposing corner on the small sides.
    2. Get you favourite ‘eat with chocolate drink’. Chilled milk workes well for beginners, tea coffee or hot chocolate are for experts...
    3. Use the ‘bitten at each end Tim Tam as a straw to consume chosen beverage.
    The biscuit layers break down and when feeling like your ‘straw’ is about to collapse, quickly consume Tim Tam. ⚠️ Hot and warm beverages increase the biscuit breakdown ten fold.

      Toblerone is nothing like Rocklea road. It does not have marshmellow, it has nougat instead which is a very different texture/taste. Toblerone also doesn't have coconut and uses almonds instead of peanuts. They are two very different chocolates.
