@acidbug Hello again. OK I'll see what I can do with your requests. I don't do what is this thing called love but I can learn it. It's been a while since I put up new solo videos but people have been asking me so I will get off my ass and do some more. Thanks for your comments.

Remember John Mcglaughlin's statement, any chord can follow any chord, you sure do play like that, love the solo work

This is a deep subject to which I don't see any rules other than wisdom of musical taste while preserving the integrity of a composition. Therefore, anything I would write would be philosophical in nature. Depending on style I was arranging in, I would use different harmonic choices but always preserving the integrity of the composition. On the fly, like this video, I just grab what I hear in the moment. I do seem to fly by the seat of my pants however. For me, that's jazz. in the moment. :)

I always say a good melodic line can bridge ANY two (or more ) chords together as if they were made for one another

@acidbug Haha not sure what you mean by ghosted double time lines. Do you mean the softness in volume? If you do it's because years ago I decided to use the round edge of the heave pick instead of the pointed, more percussive. It's kind if a trade-off - mellow thumb-like sound vs percussive technique. In certain situations however, I go the other way and go for the more percussive "speedy" effect. If you would like a sample of this let me know via my email.
    Ciao,
