Temporary supports should be on both sides , as it helps ensure the door is flat and level with the ceiling Sheetrock . Also proper use of Shims is important.

The bottom of the jambs need to be flush with the ceiling surface so it can be trimmed properly. Here the panel is flush with the ceiling and cannot be trimmed or it can be trimmed on top of the panel rendering it inoperable. I use a scrap of 1/4" as a shim on the temporary supports, so it sits right prior to the fastening. Also, it shouldn't be so tight. In colder climates you want room for insulation.
