No matter where you are on a hiking trail always bring a gun or spray with you. It's dangerous out in the wild and animal can attack you and it happened to Taylor Josephine Stephanie Luciow,(Taylor Mitchell) (August 27, 1990 - October 27, 2009)(aged 19) when she was on a trail and some coyotes attack her and someone heard screaming and her body was cover with a lot of bite marks and she died in the hospital from her injuries.

Sure it is rare, until it happens to you, then it is 100%.

Attacks happen where population density is dramatically rising like Oregon and Idaho.

Well that's a bummer. Then again that's not gonna stop me of going hiking in Mt hood forest soon. As long as I have my military trench knife, automatic tanto knife OTF, and my automatic baton, I'm good. 😎

00:59 Something to drive him to do it? He was hungry. Humans are slow. That’s enough reason unfortunately all other wildlife is a challenge and has a chance of getting away, we aren’t a challenge without weapons.

You also gotta think, was she alert of her surroundings? Most people from the cities aren't prepared and won't look while they're walking thinking they are alone, not noticing a predator or signs of one, then once they pass a cougar or wander into a bear they get mauled.

This is extremely rare. Cougars do not usually hunt humans, in fact, they are usually afraid of us and view us as weird creatures they'd rather not associate with. Hunger could not have purely caused this incident.

josh_ya_boi games and how do you propose we do that smart one?
If you kill adult females...it’s likely you’ll cause a bigger problem and more cougar attacks.
Let me spell it out. You kill a mom, her juvenile cougars are now orphans...not properly trained. They are far more likely to attack, because of lack of training and appropriate hunting by mom.
So, since there was big project to repopulate with cougars... you want to undo it?
Attacks are rare. Sure, fatalities occur...but you’re way more likely to die from another human or a dog.
