I remember Joe Rogan before UFC and fear factor. He was a mid level comedian that would be on the comedy channel late at night. Not the funniest but was better at always having content. He never fought pro but always trained and still does. The numbering of the UFC was still single digits when he commentated, as well as when he blew up because of his new role hosting fear factor. He was the first major boost and people are too young to realize he was commentating on UFC before fear factor and podcast.
So perhaps the fear factor gig, that he himself says was only for the cash was really a stepping ladder for Joe? I just remember him from fear factor

Don't forget that Joe Rogan was a 4-tike state taekwondo champion in his late teens. He didn't go on to pro fighting because he hung out with so many guys that were punch drunk and it scared him.

MMA fighters in the UFC retire somewhere between 35 and 40 years of age....and the prime age for UFC fighters is 30 to 35 .... So khabib was in his prime at that time .... I think fighters can retire any age they want like Toney Ferguson is 39 and still fighting till now!

I have been following him since then in the AKA gym.. he controls fighters of different weights and puts them all in a very bad position. They only try to stay alive, even those who are heavier than him. He is unbelievable😮!

** Update: Sean O'Malley just recently won against Aljamain Sterling and Sean is 28 years old , but as you can see just about every fighter is in their mid-30s. However , betting wise they do say when a fighter is over 40 you want to stay away , but sometimes the over 40-year-old fighter has more experience and especially the Brazilians do really well for example Glover Texiera, Francisco Trinaldo, many more.

Khabib retired in his prime days. Soon, he would probably decline but he was still at his best when last fought. He retired when he was 33. Usually, fighters start to regress around that age. Beyond 35 in that weight class is considered old.
In heavier divisions, fighters can fight on the highest level longer.
Then again, it really depends on how you preserve your body, injuries, how many grueling training camps, how many brutal fights, when you started fighting...

It is neither "Kabib" or "habib", the "Kh" sound is a a sound that doesn't exist in English, it sounds a bit like a coughed "h". It is a type of sound often called gutteral or back fricative sounds, rare in english, common in Russian and Arabic.
