Eddie Hall famously deadlifted 500kg in a velcro belt (his own!). But your point stands that they're not necessarily for powerlifting! Great video - thanks for the tutorial and info.
Thank you! 😊 I use a velcro belt when I am lifting really heavy or testing 1RM. I am starting powerlifting training next week and probably will invest in a lever belt. Thank you for your helpful video! 🙏 Much appreciated ❤
Word of advice for lever, go Pioneer. They're sick and have a lifetime guarantee. My lever broke after 4 years and they replaced within a week no questions asked. Worth the investment!
This is a great video and thank you for it. I had a velcro belt. I just recently ordered a lever belt. I will be testing it out and if I like it I will buy a high end one later. Last few years I have been getting into deadlifting and need a better support belt than the Velcro one I have.
Some lifting belts have cushions and many of them dont...my gym has a belt medium size,it has a prom system and has a cushion for the back ...is it good to use that belt for squats and dead lifts??please someone tell the difference between a belt that has a cushion and the one that hasn't
It will be fine. It's just a diff in construction/feel. From a "stability" POV, will likely be fine for your needs. If you notice it's not once you start getting heavier, then it may be worth investing in something else
2:58 I think you guys need to make a huge distinction with that pioneer belt it’s actually called a hybrid belt its core is made of leather. It’s mix of powerlifting style belt and regular weight lifting belt if anything it’s more strongman inspired. I feel that this is bad representation for regular Velcro belts which the core are not leather but other material like foam or cloth. If anything that belt leds itself to being a jack of all trades.
As in physical weight? Generally, lever belts will be heavier overall, but things like buckle and thickness come into play here so there's some nuance to keep in mind!
They also have the best buckle system ever... please review one, they are better than SBD. And if you buy an eleiko powerlifting belt. You are buying wahlanders for a 100%mark up
@@thatfitfriend for several years Brandon had a discount code with Pioneer that got you 10% off all belts, wrist wraps, etc. but they took away all the influencer discounts codes

Thanks for checking out the vid!
Me I go use a plant belt
I have a Pioneer double prong belt at 10 mm and 4 inches. I went that way, because I was losing my gut when I got it, so I needed more adjustment.
Not a bad call!
Awesome collab. Love to see you covering more stuff.
Thank you, friend!
I’ve given up on ever being cool and keep two belts on me. Prong 10mm for deads and 13mm lever for squats.
If bringing two belts to the gym is cool, then call me Miles Davis.
I really appreciate the offer prong belt so you can adjust it better that single hole designs. Especially for someone gaining and losing weoght

Sick. Think you'll love the lever belt. Thank you!
Great video and great presentation, true pros
Appreciate you!
Love the pioneer hybrid belt!!!
Pioneer doesn't miss!
Where can I buy the white lever belt you showed? I love the design!
Pioneer!
Gym Reapers Lever Belt is by far the best Belt I have ever used 👊
Their Founder Roc is a good lad, too
The purpose for (weight lifting belts), are to support lifters in the gym. Lifting weights you need to be safe.
Can you drop links to all three of these belts
Some of them are custom! Prioneer and SBD, easy searches, homie!

No jokes from Brandon 😮
Only business on this channel 😂

Do they still sell the Adjustable pioneer in the style you had the Bar don't lie? I can't find it 😢
That’s Brandon’s custom belt!
Have you tried the Brahma multi-adjustable lever belt?
No but I’ve heard good things!
great video. clear and to the point.
Thank you for checking it out!
How about weight wise between prong vs lever?

Hey Jake. Try wahlanders belt. The best freaking belt ever...

Do you have the regular core version? Heard they're hard to put on
@@flugames I have the regular one (13mm stiff) not the soft core they are really easy once you understand the buckle mechanism 🙂
Good looks! I'll grab one and get a review in the works next month! Thank you for the suggestion.
