OK so I never though I would say this to Sweetwater but you slipped through a few key specs that makes this a perfect choice for streaming : 1 - Selectable mono/stereo loopback function 2 - Official support in OBS studio (never heard of that given OBS in an open source software) 3 - Cubasis for iOS is a really nice touch for when you need to work with clients who stream on Instagram for instance (like I do). All in all this should be an excellent, if not the best value for a streaming interface. Straight designed and price for the lockdown situation!
The loopback function is nifty for streamers, but other than that I wouldn’t call this a generational upgrade from their other US-series models. I’m curious if there will be a replacement for the US-20x20 with loopback and perhaps an updated/improved DSP mixer. Seems they wanted to refresh the US series but didn’t want to cannibalize the Series... series. Curious.
I’d like to see a comparison between the Tascam US 2X2 HR vs the Behringer UMC204HD. I’m a hobbyist who will be recording vinyl to computer, applying fix-ups before burning WAV.files to CDs.
Hi there! That interface comes with Cubase LE, IK Multimedia’s Sample Tank SE, and Auto-Tune Unlimited. I hope this helps! Nick Pasquino, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3230, nick_pasquino@sweetwater.com
Hey, Josue. Thank you for checking out our TH-cam video on the Tascam interfaces. These are very good sounding high sample rate interfaces. They would be good for any sort of recording you might be looking to do, including a podcast. To answer you question though, It really depends on your setup and how much you plan on doing live in your podcast vs post produced. This in my opinion is a music stronger interface for recording and editing then trying to use it live on the fly for a podcast or broadcast. It will work, but there are probably better on the market to choose from. I would love to talk more about it. Reach out anytime. Thanks, Grant Embury, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1647, Grant_embury@Sweetwater.com

Hello, Mickael. Thanks for reaching out! It's Mickey from Sweetwater! Yes, according to Tascam their entire "US-HR" Series interfaces have loopback for Mac/PC/iOs, as well as OBS support. If you need help designing the rest of your rig, give your Sales Engineer a call! Mickey Cushing, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3024, Mickey_Cushing@Sweetwater.com

Really nice interfaces. To me, the red plastic pages with the black "net" look terrible. I think for the purists it would be great if you launch alternative colors (e.g. silver or black)?
Tascam is a little crystalline sounding interface and FR is a little bassay sounding audio interface. Go and check ED thorne caparison of 10 audio interfaces. Both these interfaces design your sound.
It honestly doesn't mean shit unless you're recording at 192khz which if you are... You may actually be losing quality even after dithering rendering to 44.1/48k for video/streaming. The Steinberg interfaces are nice ofc but IMO don't cater to the larger studio for the majority of them which is a big miss. Nowhere near enough I/O which Tascam and many other companies have plenty of for half the price.
Don't look much different than the OG US-series besides the nicer appearance. That said... Wow do they look SO much better lol smart marketing move to go black and red!
Mitch for one did a dodgy job because here are the new specs : Mono/stereo selectable loopback function 4 samples latency OBS studio support (which I have never heard of for any other interface, I guess it’s more stable in OBS) Also 4 *balanced* outputs is kinda nice, MIDI as well, AND the first reviewers say that it is plug and play in Windows 10... The 4x4 isn’t even 100 bucks per channel... Sounds like a perfect interface for streaming tbh
appreciate the video... however, says it was made end of 2020. Why does it look like this is filmed on the 1990s Jerry Springer set? Why are you using a garage sale table with scratches all over it? Why is the host wearing his uncles sport blazer from 1986? So many questions besides the actual product.
High resolution is somewhat pointless, the audio is still going to end up at 44.1kHz/16bit, which is the industry standard-at best, otherwise at 320Kbps at best on streaming platforms. So a much better idea is to perfect your mixing/mastering skills rather than expecting 192kHz to do the magic. Even a trained human ear cannot hear over 48kHz. Seems like a cheap marketing tactic that they and other companies try to pull instead of implementing innovative features like Behringer did with Flow 8 for instance.

The new HR series: now accepts employee complaints.

Hello, in terms of preamp sound and converters sound, is it better than the 208i ? thank you !
I love your reviews Sweetwater! ❤️
What software program does this come with for recording?

Has anyone compared Tascam US-4x4HR vs FOCUSRITE Scarlett 4i4?
Pl watch ED THORNE CHANNEL. TASCAM SOUNDS ON THE TOP OF 10 INTERFACES.
They original 4x4 was quite cloudy sounding.
I love this brand but not everything they make is gold.

Hell yeah! On the US-20x20 here!

TASCAM just really changed the label and colour and resold their product. This is lazy from them.
