I was a huge fan of hers back in the day. She was amazing, and yeah, she was blues, almost a delta blues thing sometimes. From Texas. There was no one else on the scene even remotely like her. Such a loss.
This lady could sing! Sadly we lost her too soon. She was only 27 when she died. "Me & Bobby McGee" is one of my favorites by her but she had a lot of great songs such as "Piece Of My Heart", "Cry Baby", "Down On Me", "Maybe", "Little Girl Blue", "Ball & Chain", "Summertime", "Try (Just A Little Bit Harder)", "Get It While You Can", "Bye, Bye Baby", "Move Over" & her original song "Mercedes Benz".
She is my favorite thank you for reacting!! 💛 if you are open to more, i highly recommend her summertime live performance, and her live ball and chain performance at Monterey pop festival
BB King and Albert King both loved Janis. Albert called her The Queen of the Blues and BB King wouldn't allow anyone to talk while she sang. They both performed with Janis frequently
Do all of her LIVE versions first!!! She's one of those greats that do live best!! Talk Shows are the best places to get that material as well as her concerts. 😊
Amazing Janis❤

She was something SPECIAL..I can see that!
Janis Joplin is one of kind! That voice is iconic. The Blues gave birth to Rock & Roll. Great reaction!
