Excellent comparison. The G410 is the most compact Ping G irons that I have tried and thought the top line was fairly thin for this model. Good to hear they have continued to refine the look in the G425, although price of G410 won it for me.
I just picked up a set of G410's as a lefty I honestly couldn't even pick up the G425's from the store. Stock is a pretty big issue these days. I am totally fine with how the G410 looks so glad to know it's really splitting hairs on the performance. So many reviews try to make it seem like the G425 is revolutionary some even knock the both models for not going as far as other loft jacked GI irons.... When I had radspeeds they honestly just felt way too mental. So I appreciate the 30 degree 7 iron.
Ping always have quality looking clubs.. but the G425 are too chunky for my eye though. Did have the i210s but found the gapping inconsistent. That's the problem you have in a fitting , where only a 6 iron is available... Great video again 👏
Hi Michael just saw this video and have Karston Ping irons 2014 model which model do you think might help me out I am a 16 handicapper? Thank You Regards John Lowe
I'm looking forward to purchasing the g425 but like the look of in colour black but I don't like the look of the the black colour finish in g710!. I've no choice but stick with ping irons is that it have more choice in lie angle option's
Is the front to back dispersion expected? And any info on the finish wearing on the club face any more/less than other makes? I think I may give the 425's a test...
I've been playing the 410's for over a year, I play quite a bit and the finish seems pretty durable. They still look quite nice, love the look of the 425 but I'll probably stick with the 410's..........for now!
I am currently playing G710's, I enjoy the irons but after 6 months they look 5 years old. Not happy at all with the wear. I play better with irons that I feel look good. Have G425's on order. Should arrive 3-4 weeks. Thanks for the good review of both irons.
Since they are basically identical is there any difference in sound and feel since the G410 uses CorEye technology and the G425 is using VFT in the face design.
So am I ...yet, despite it having been advertised originally on the 425 website, the retrofit option no longer appears to be available. Very disappointing if that is indeed the case.
@@internationAL21 exactly. I saw retrofit specs last week and then the next day it was gone. I’m sure they can be ordered with being bent weaker. Or if nothing else have a shop bend them
You can order them online in retro spec i see it on ping site then checked one of the custom fit online stores i use they had all 3 specs. I did notice its not on ping site now.
So if you were forced to choose between the Apex Pro and the ping G 425 as the irons you had to play for 2021 what would you do? Go with the hardest to hit or some of the easiest
Watched this video about how Ping drivers have changed over 20 years. Distance was consistent but dispersion and forgiveness greatly improved. Skip to the end and look at the dispersion eclipse. Would enjoy watching more videos about how clubs have evolved and when to upgrade. th-cam.com/video/09a3qs8oQGI/w-d-xo.html
Been using my G15s since I got them in 2010, just put my order in for the G425s - will see how it all goes, the lofts are going to be interesting to get use to
@@fredfrank6139 I do too. I actually like the red and black color scheme-Call me crazy. Also, I seriously doubt I'm ever going to find a better performing iron (At least, not anytime soon).
Interesting - the iron and driver comparisons both seem to give a better smash factor and carry distance with the 400 so it's difficult to see the attraction of the 425. I've got a Ping 400 Max driver but never had Ping irons so there's nothing that would drive me towards the 425s. I have Srixon 565 irons so would be interested in a comparison between the latest Srixon irons and the 425s.
Yes as are most clubs but don’t think of that as a negative. The manufacturing plants and processes are vastly improved. Even Mizuno uses foundries in China.
@@legend9018 This has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with companies moving manufacturing to an authoritarian communist state simple so they can make more profits. @@booger65man ..............I don't think there is any golf company still making club heads in the USA............some of it is cost, some of it is the strict environmental rules making it VERY difficult or impossible. Ping does still assemble all of their clubs in the USA.
I hate to be a critic but the problem with this review is that you hit every ball pretty much perfectly. A game improvement club needs the be measured by how well it performs when the ball is hit thin, off the toe, etc. I know measuring forgiveness is hard but that's that these irons are supposed to be about.
My opinion is that these kind of game improvement irons are dated technology; technology cannot be ignored both for game pleasure and scoring, expecially when you get same launch and spin but more distance and accuracy. PXG and taylor with P790 are one step much further. Like for like, no doubt about the choice. I had G410, i sold them. I understand who plays blades but not who still buy such game improvement irons.
Golf club companies should start recycling their 15 year old clubs call them latest greatest and I bet there’s no difference from 2020 ones in all honesty especially drivers so much bullshit
This year, last year? Sorry to say this is ultra dull and pointless. Ping, Titleist, Taylormade etc 2021 irons compared is fine. The audience buying a new set of irons from a single manufacturer every year is tiny, therefore a review has little or no relevance.
I appreciate the honest review. I’ll stick with my 410s

I want to see this review and comparison with someone who actually NEEDS a game improvement iron.
Got some G400s 3 years ago, regripped them recently, and still love them. Don’t see any reason to upgrade for minute changes. 425s do look good though
Great review but these reviews are made by great golfers. As a high handicap 60 year old I like a great big club head behind the ball
I upgraded from g400 to the g425. Thx for the review
Hey there Wayne! How did the upgrade go? I'm considering doing this same thing?
Thank you for the review. love the look never owned a g series looks like the 425s will be the 1st
They look better slightly not worth upgrading from the G410 though Great review though👍🏌♂️
How about a head to head with the i500?
Nice comparison. I have Mizuno's, AP2's, both nice but my players are a combo set of Ping G400 and Ping G410.
