I found it.. Oh my god afrer 16 years. I had the melody stuck in my head and I thought I was the only person on the planet that ever heard this song and at one point, I thought I made up the melody because nobody knew it, that's how desperate I was. I f***ing found it....!!!
@Fritz Box1590 Eurovision is still good ! Don't get disappointed because of the winning songs which are trash sometimes! Still there are good songs making entry into Eurovision every year apart from the winning ones! Pls listen to this year's France! It's amazing but the winning entry is not enticing to me!
Even after more than 10 years I still get shivers down my spine when I hear this song. It is a total eargasm. Thank you Belgium for this entry, kindest regards from Slovenia.
We Belgians didnt expect much from that year. I never heard it at the radio. First time I heard it was at eurosong and it was way better than expected. It deserved a first place in my eyes
I was totally IN LOVE with this song and I still am. This imaginary language is beautiful, the melody is wonderful and the voice of the singers, too. Perfect!!·
Not "imaginary language". It's a "constructed language" otherwise known as a "conlang". And yes, the song is very, very good. I've never seen Eurovision, but I've heard from others that this song was one of the best they'd ever seen at Eurovision.
Stewart Gordon Um... because they are singing in it. If they're singing in it, then it's obviously not imaginary. Also, I have been creating languages for years and am in multiple online groups related to language creation. The accepted terms are "conlang" or "constructed language". "Imaginary language" just sounds insulting.
Probably one of the most beautiful songs in Eurovision history alongside Lane Moje the year after. Do not even need to understand it to feel its power. I was only 14 at the time and went through a heavy metal phase but fell in love with this song and was upset it did not win. Still remains my favourite Eurovision song of all time.
Since it was the french entry that year us dutch speaking part of the country hadn't even heard it before the contest but it blew me away. By far the best belgian entry ever
I feel like this is what a true European song would sound like, it's as if all the European styles of music and languages were mashed together. And no surprise, it's beautiful! A true Eurovision classic
When I was at a Eurovision Party in 2003 there was a gasping moan when I gave my 12 points to Belgium. But when the votes were stacking up, and Belgium came 2nd, I was crowned the night's Eurovision Guru. Thank you Sanomi ;)
to me this is the quintessential eurovision song .one may not understand the language as many of us dont understand each others but we can feel the music regardless of borders.magnificent
Hello Nick, the text is in no language at all. It was made with the intention just not to be identified as any language at all. So everybody could get out of it what he/she feels.
Such a beautiful song. Any other year this would have won, but Sertab's song and performance were more of a show-stopper, and to me did deserve the win. Off the top of my head this is one of the best of probably all runners-up along with Ukraine 2007 & 2008.
This unique song will endure. I have loved it from on the first moment and it will remain in my mind as long as I'll live. Stunning! Amazing! Gorgeous! Thank you for this wonderful song.
I think I'm speaking for everyone when I say they were the true winners. This song's just perfect. No big act, no stupid dancers, no flashy lights and awful outfits. Just 6 people who understand what music is about ...
Not being a fan of Eurovision, especially nowadays, this was literally the only song that I ever voted for. Shaped most of the summer of 2003 for me, and refined my inner feeling of good (read: real) music yet again.
This somehow reminds me of the time when Paleo-Europeans including Basque roaming throughout the continent, the time before the Indo-Europeans came to Europe. Simply amazing, this one should've been Belgium's second victory.
@@22nd_Place_Vasil Its kinda related to other languages, I translated "Sanomi hele" and it means Sanomi, Message, the others make nothing sense tho. Thats according to google translate ofc

He likes this music and I will agree with him. Sounds like a lost language of a Celtics or something, Trippy😎 Oh Galician tunes then🤔
Mon Dieu!!!
one of the best song we have send in over the past 15 years :) should have won!!!!! the song we are going to send this year is also not bad LOVE THIS SONG
By far the best song that year. The music is enchanting as is the gorgeous Veronica. As an Irishman, I'm disappointed we were only able to give you "Huit points"!
The song "Sanomi" is so beautiful, that I have decided to use the title as my middle name. It wasn¨t legal in 1966, but if was in 2010. Thank you to Urban Trad for allowing this. :-)
I am Turkish and this was a great song and it was my favorite in ESC'03 and I am still listening it. But our song was good too, and as far as I remember Belgium gave us 12 points. Durin that night I really wanted us to win but if Belgium had got instead of us I wouldn't be that sorry. Because they really deserved it as much as us.
It is common truth that the last years, the Eurovision Contest does not give good songs, songs that last through the time. Most songs are based on the same eurovision formula. Urban Trad gave us a total different song. I thank them for that. Sanomi was excellent.
Awfully, 2003 was the best year of the whole Eurovision history, the one with the most high quality songs. If we had sent this entry any other year, we would have won.
This is probably the most beautiful song ever played on the ESC. A second place is obviously really good, but let's be honest: this should've won instead of Turkey. This makes me proud to be Belgian.
