i swear- when this is being taught in class i get so confused and end up not understanding anything, but watching an almost 10 minute video made me understand it much quicker.
Just in case someone is confused at this part 9:30 when factoring (x^3 - 8). The formula he is using is: A^3 - B^3 = (A-B) (A^2 + AB + B^2) A = x B= 2 because you cube root the 8 Now all you have to do is plug in these terms = (A-B) (A^2 + AB + B^2) 3 (x-2) (x^2 + 2x + 4) hope this helps!
MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for another off the chart's video/lecture on Multiplying Rational Expressions in Algebra/Algebra Two. There is high probability of making errors while multiplying/factoring rational expressions, so students must pay close attention to all algebraic operations.

Bruh i am in the same boat. I'm going to school for economics online for asu. The algedra class was so vague in teaching us this. I didn't know the teacher will be having us take tests in such a short amount of time!
today is the day before my algebra 2 unit 2 test, one of the most difficult algebra tests i have yet to take. it is around 85 points for this first section, and i was really stressed about it until i remembered your videos. my teacher is rarely at school, so often, the most important lessons are taught through google classroom and a worksheet. i find myself pulling my hair out trying to teach myself these things, so when i find a video you make on the topic, i am flooded with relief. i have been on an algebra 2 video binge for the past few hours, and i have learned more from you than i have this year. thank you so much. you help so many people, including myself.
Thank you so much, none of this makes sense until I go to youtube. Crazy how much can understand in 12 minutes of youtube vs 1 school hour of staring at my desk.
5:07 I just use the X method to factor by multiplying a and c then finding factors of the sum that add to the middle coefficient. Then I divide both by the leading coefficient which is 2 and simplify if I can.
Here he factored out a 10x and also factored out the trinomial. This is what happened. He had 10x^3 -70x^2 +120x --> 10x(x^2 - 7x +12x) then factored the (x^2 -7x+12x) term to be (x-3)(x-4) so the final factored expression was 10x(x-3)(x-4). Hopefully that made sense!
i studied so hard for an end of year test with these videos only for my teacher to give us a joke quiz where there was only 1 question, what is her first and last name.
at 8:14 i don't get, I multiplied 2(20) and get its factors -10 & -4 that adds to -14 so mine was 2x²-10x-4x+20 but you factor all of the coefficients simultaneously so our answers is different. im confuse now, someone help me.
Well that’s the thing once you know the basics of how to do it the other stuff just follows it’s the same in most classes and math you get taught the basics then the shoved face first into “WTF IS THAT”
Difference of perfect squares is a "special pattern" basically a way of simplifying expressions. The more questions you do the quicker you will recognize these difference of squares and can write them in the form of (a+b)(a-b) also to get the value of a^2 - b^2 you can just expand the (a+b)(a-b) term out and you will see that the ab term cancels!

Thats the beauty of learning on TH-cam you can stop, start, and fast forward the videos! It makes it so much easier to learn effectively!

what happend here at 4:11 did -7x got removed? to be change to x-3 and x-4
Here he factored out a 10x and also factored out the trinomial. This is what happened. He had 10x^3 -70x^2 +120x -->
10x(x^2 - 7x +12x) then factored the (x^2 -7x+12x) term to be (x-3)(x-4) so the final factored expression was 10x(x-3)(x-4). Hopefully that made sense!

so if all the numerator and denominator cancel out then it would be 1 as the answer?
Exactly!
3/3=1
-5/-5=1
10x/10x=1
(x+2)/(x+2)=1
Etc.
If you ever have the exact same thing on the top and bottom, they cancel out and equal = 1
Why do I want to distribute when there is a constant and a term in parentheses for the final answer?

Yes, and 7x+35/2 and 7(x+5)/2, are the same and you could write the answer what ever way you want, it doesn't matter
