As an ex-Northeasterner exiled to Southern California this is probably one of the only parts of winter I really miss. Empty roads, virtually no friction... Beautiful.
I've been looking at the CX-5 and really leaning towards it for my next vehicle (I want to see what the 2017 CX-5 looks like first). I'm really happy you mentioned the CX-5 in this video because when the Sportage was redesigned for 2017, I really wrote it off. Now it's back in the wheelhouse.
Where is the road?! How do you know where to drive for certain? Just know the road when it isn't covered in snow? It's all level looking I don't see where the road ends and the curb begins. Crazy.
If I wanted to see a POV of just the view out of the windshield, I wouldn't need to go to the Winding road TH-cam page and click on a specific car POV... I would like to see the odometer and some interior lighting.
Great Real conditions Review. I am alot more impressed by the Sportage after seeing this vehicle in those conditions. The biggest drawback I see are the EPA Fuel estimates. I am curious to know if the real world mpgs are as bad as the projected ones. Also, this vehicle does not offer radar cruise which comes in handy on those long open road trips.
At the beginning of the video when you're doing the walk around you should note if the vehicle is on the stock tires or designated snow tires. I can see after careful examination that it appears to be on the stock all seasons but it would've been nice to know for sure. Thank you.
Just so everyone knows, don't turn off your traction control/stability control when driving on the road EVER. Turning it off is for getting unstuck only like in a driveway of snow or a mud pit.
Scott Watkins - I disagree. We now have a generation of drivers who only know how to drive in poor conditions with these electronic assists. I think more people should practice vehicle control without these assists turned on (in a responsible area).
Chris O Oh no, I definitely understand why you, a spirited driver would turn it off, but your everyday commuter is not looking for a tougher time trying correct their sliding car. I just don't think that they should believe that turning off traction control (and especially if you have stability control) will help them be able to drive more confidently in the snow. I know exactly what turning it off does, especially with my SH-AWD system that is rear torque heavy through curves. Turning it off let's the back end swing more and doesn't help you correct it. Why would you want to do that if you're just a regular driver going from point A to point B? THATS all I was saying
KingMacintosh That being said, I always keep my stability control on unless I'm messing around in a snowy parking lot or something. I've never even ALMOST hit someone or lost control of my car with it on. But everyone's different so there's that
Scott Watkins a bit new to awd I have the 2017 sorento amazing machine but why should I turn off traction/stability control to get unstuck I would love to know why
Isn't the important part the removal of snow from your roof and hood of the car? That's downright stupid and illegal in some states. Think you would know better.
kia has come a long way I remember they use to have the ugliest vehicles and a lot of dealerships in my area had a buy one get one free special going on back in the day
Those snowy evenings are great for drives.
That thing is pretty impressive on all seasons. I have a newfound respect for Kia AWD system's setup

I love videos like this in the snow at night and it so relaxing
I wouldn't mind the roads being like this every day of winter.
Kia and Hyundai have really stepped up their game but I think the CX5 is hard to beat.
Clean the snow off the roof!
And the hood.
Great sound on this video with Bluetooth over ear headphones, it sounds like I'm right there in the cab.
Great relaxed video and snow driving impressions. I like this guy more of him.
The camera angle was too high in my opinion.
This review is informative and peaceful.
Now this is what I call a proper review
So fun watching you slide around and rev er out!

I've been a subscriber for a couple years now .....I liked the "quiet vids"
Perfect video. Perfect compact SUV
I love your vids
"Some people just need to chill" xD They can just stand outside
Your videos are my zen
I think this was my favorite
Great chill video ! From France
would be better to test the suv on a couple of snowy hills rather than on flat roads. Most cars can deal with flat roads without awd with no problem
The Kia shortage is awesome
looks like fun for sure! A word of advice though, you really should clean all the snow off your hood.

my daddy had one of these in 1920
Love the look of this. Love these videos as well. Great job!
I don't like Kia but I love the channel thank you🎉🎉

I like this car
Any chance you could get a VW Alltrack for a night snow/day drive review? Thanks!!
Wow that freeway is wide compared to ones in Europe.
yeah I'm an American and from my experience throughout Europe, the roads are half the size there as they are here in the states
Looking to buy a used one with low miles. How much gas did it use up in this test drive if you remember?
Are you guys getting the new Mazda CX9 to drive any time soon?
Do the santa fe sport next
Does this car has HID? As from the starting of the video, the headlights seem pretty yellowish, but it turns to typical HID white after 10 minutes.
great video
The windshield rake seems very aggressive, how was the visibility?
It's so quiet inside!
can you try the 2016 Honda pilot in the snow, want to see how it would do?
what mic are you using its pretty good
what kind of winter tires are you running ???
He says midway through that it's sporting all-season tires.
please do thé review if thé hyundai Tucson!
Are you going drive the new cx5?
