  • CHIEF S. I. ATOLAGBEAND HIS HOLY RAINBOW BAND.
This is it, the second album byChief S. I. Atolagbe and His HolyRainbow Band - a sequel to theirSo Wa Mbe Vol. 3'. The enthusiasticreception and outstanding successof 'So Wa Mbe Vol. 3' makethis follow up very welcome andalmost inevitable.
On this record a new trail inJuju music is being blazed by ChiefAtolagbe with the latest of hisseemingly never-ending innovationsincorporating into his rhythmsection a drum set, which hadhitherto been a strict reserve forhighlife and most Western music.
A little more accent has beenplaced on rhythm in the music onthis L.P. The result is that themusic now has a lot of swingwhich just can't make you keepyour toes still. You will findyou are foot - tapping allaalong when you try to just sitand listen. This goes to show thatthe music here is first andforemost for dancing which I'm surewill go down well with groovemakers.
Chief Atolagbe is no stranger towinners: and with this pace - setterhere then is another definitetriumph for the Holy RainbowBand

Please, how can I get Chief S. I. Atolagbe's works? He's from Ipoti-Ekiti. He passed on about two years ago. Please, I seriously need his old albums. Let me know how I can reach you please.

Sadly it's not written anywhere. I can only guess this is from very late 60s to 70/71 maximum. Not sure of exact year
