Great video! Definitely going to use this on my 2005 Dodge Magnum 2.5L, if I decide to do this myself. Question, was there a small air hole on the thermostat? I've seen a few with an air hole, and wasn't sure if yours had one. Seems like the ones with an air hole needs to be seated a certain way, so I was just wondering if yours did, and if so, how do you position it correctly? Thanks!

If I remember correctly, yes it did have the hole. My issue was the rubber had gotten caught causing the thermostat to stick open just enough to keep from warming up as quickly as it should

What brand was the old thermostat? Have the same issue, new part but still indicates it's stuck open. I have duralast from auto zone, might change the brand to prevent this from happening again.

I am assuming the one I took out was original to the car so I would say it's Mopar.

Best bet is to get one from the dealer so you don't run into the issue of it not being to OEM spec.

The Duralast from AZ is not the greatest. It's made in china. I had a Duralast thermostat in my 09 Charger SXT and I don't think it even lasted me a year. I keep having this issue today and I can't figure out why for the life of me. I've had the thermostat replaced at least four times in the last five years and I've even had the coolant temperature sensor changed at least once. I can't figure out for the life of me why this damn code keeps coming up.

Maybe coolant temp sensor, low coolant, or air in the system
