Well done, we travelled across the temporary bypass bridge in Fitzroy early September 2023 .There appeared plenty of work to be done ,the workers must have really pulled their fingers out. Congratulations a job well done.

I used to live in derby and seen the mighty Fitzroy River floods 1993 and the abc had run communications at old derby mw broadcast tower site and my dad Dave Roberts was a technical officer and fixed the telephone exchange site in Fitzroy crossing

Like many DFES staff & volunteers who spent weeks in FC supporting the FC community its very satisfying to see this project successfully completed and enpowering that same community with a long term resiliance project. Well done Main Roads W.A.

Amazing what can be done when it needs to be. Local to me, (Not WA) they are planning on removing 1 roundabout and replacing it traffic lights. Work is commencing tomorrow and expecting to finish early next year. You guys removed and built a bridge faster than they can get rid of a tree and put in a few light poles. Please come here

A great project well done by all.
Now it’s time to make the Nullaboor crossings flood resistant for the states freight.

Let the builders build and let the politicians cut the red tape at the end. That’s why it went so smoothly. Not having a budget to stick too also made sense.

BUILD THE BRADFIELD SCHEME IN QUEENSLAND TO SERVICE QUEENSLAND, NEW SOUTH WALES VICTORIA AND SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
ALSO BUILD A SIMILAR SCHEME FROM THE KIMBERLY TO SERVICE ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE SOUTH OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

Of course if we, as a country, still a coastal shipping service then freight could have been delivered to the East Kimberley via the port of Wyndham.😊

Amazing what can be achieved when excess red tape and government bureaucracy is removed from a large project. So amazing in fact the Gvt funded this video to showcase the incredible efforts of WA's vast engineering and fabrication business, local community and more and, toot their own horn while they're at it. It's rare Main Roads gets a round of applause. Well done to all involved.

I bet you that it was done by people who don't muck around, just get it done, no stalling by people that have their own agenda, you probably have the key people that were respected and were a team in the real sense of a team.

Here we see the government and the public service do a great job. If some corporation was given a contract, then it would still have been unfulfilled by lawyers.

China would have done it in a month, under budget and using their own labour, equipment and materials imported from China.

Great effort to all concerned,,, nice to see the WA Govt working efficiently for a change... The new bridge will obviously stand the test of future floods. When you compare the supports of the old bridge compared to the new. I've driven road trains over the old bridge and I can tell you I hated it. It moved during the transit. As I said,,, All hail,,, to all those involved in the reconstruction.
