    Amazing video! One question : The placement of the spikes or money pieces come in between the lines of the upper map or right on the line ?

    • @SoCoLashes
      @SoCoLashes  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you!!! I keep the spikes on the middle layer 😍 the top layer is inconsistent, and allows for the spikes to fall to the sides when they grow out. When they’re in the middle layer, the other lashes will give the spikes support 😍

    • @emmalashes
      @emmalashes ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SoCoLashes Sorry about the confusion I meant : You know how you drew the map on the eyepaches. There are the lines and you wrote the numbers on. The spikes/money pieces go in between those lines or where the line is drawn ?

    • @SoCoLashes
      @SoCoLashes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And totally play around to see what you like. You can do the bottom layer, but you’ll just have to add 1-2mm of lengths.

    • @chrissymccallister7951
      @chrissymccallister7951 ปีที่แล้ว

      @emmalashes I see what your asking 😉 It is to my understanding, she places the spikes “in line” with the lines she drew on the map 😊 and the fan lengths go between the lines she drew on the map. She wants us to leave a few extra natural hairs at the lines so we can add more spikes in at the end, if we need to.🥰

    I’m a lash tech and I was taught to never put lash extensions that are 3-4 more times longer on a clients natural lashes, because it will really damage and break the clients natural lashes if they are too long .. I’m saying this cuz I’m seeing the longest length your using is a 16 mm on a client with very short lashes, if you measure her NL I’m sure you will see they are probably 10-11mm., how do you determine how much longer to go to where it’s not going to damage the N.L

    • @SoCoLashes
      @SoCoLashes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi!! I think that every educator teaches on a bias opinion, so it’s hard to say who is correct. I was taught to not go over double their length, but then I was taught several different things as well. I would recommend trying everything yourself to get your best opinion 😍

    So, you’re applying spikes first?

    • @SoCoLashes
      @SoCoLashes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Applying the Spikes first will give you more of a perfect and look if you are placing and watching as you please… If you places you go it’s going to give you more of a grown in, lived in, texture whiskey look. So it just really depends on what look I am going for. Or what look my client is hoping for.

  • @merlindhuang772
    @merlindhuang772 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can i use 13mm for the wispy look?🤔

    • @SoCoLashes
      @SoCoLashes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ABSOLUTELY! If you are using 13 mm for your spikes… You will want to use your filler 2 to 3 mm shorter… And if you’re using your 13 mm for filler… You’ll want to add 2 to 3 mm for your spikes 😍 You can even start as short as 5 mm, and create spikes with 7 to 8 mm… As long as there is a 2 to 3 mm difference you’ve got wispy! And the more wispy you do, that more textured it will look. So the less spikes you do the more wispy will look… There should be right around 15 to 25 spikes if you want wispy… And around 40 if you want texture

    Do you fill the whole top layer with spikes or you just put one of each length, I can’t really tell

    • @SoCoLashes
      @SoCoLashes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I place my spikes on every layer to give them a ‘lived in’ look. If I’m doing a perfect Striplash look, I’ll choose one later and stick with it, but I don’t do that often. I also go by visual- so when I’m finished, I have them open their eyes and if anything is looking weird- either cooked, too long, too short… I’ll replace it with whatever it needs 🥰 Normally there are at least 2 that need tweaking 🥰

    • @SoCoLashes
      @SoCoLashes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always book 3 hours for my full sets… But if I’m doing a model plant… I’ll make sure and book out for our timeslot just in case I want to really perfect anything. Or if the client has more lashes that I had expected… Or maybe if they’re a little difficult. So normally I’m about 3 to 3 1/2 hours… Model set up to four…
