It can and I should have done so. I was using the ARB-704 on the Flex and so just swung the connection over. The reason I mention it here is because that is how I did it. However, I have since be told by the manufacturer not to do this and I have seen issues (covered in another video) because I was using the ARB-704. If you decide to do this, I would now recommend against the 704 but I have not personally tried that.
@@don_n5skt thanks, Don! I got my MercuryIIIs Friday. Great product. Took about 4 hours to assemble. Getting ready to test it with my FkexRadio and then the IC-705. Dave WI9Q
Thanks for this video Don. I have an IC-705 as well and a Mercury IIIS. Love the amp! (And the transceiver of course). I'm not using the two together, but your video give me the confidence to go ahead and give it a try. Should be able to drive 500 watts out of the IC-705/Mercury combination at the full power (10W) on IC-705. DON -WHERE DID YOU GET THAT COOL STAND FOR THE IC-705.
That’s a sexy looking amp
And it works really well.
That's cool Don , nice looking amp.
Thanks Chuck
That is awesome 👏
Thanks Ape
Why the ARB-704? Can’t the 705 connect directly? IE, 3.5mm plug on Icom to RCA plug?on amp?

Hi Don,
The amp looks and operates nice. Stay safe. 73 WJ3U
Thanks Don. It was a long build but has worked really well despite my poor soldering skills
