I had no idea they had a 60m race and even less that the stadium where they run is so short it needs a wall cushion to stop them from faceplanting. LMAO.
The stadium isn’t small. Instead of running in a straight line along the track (as in 100m), they’re running along the diameter, which is much shorter.
I think this is probably the most practical running event. 60m is a good distance, a lot of team sports rely on many short sprints with fast acceleration, as opposed to longer runs. 60m is also the most inclusive distance, because a lot of people don't have access to a nice, sunny, grass oval to train on.
@@das81 so that means he got Italian citizenship through his mother. Good cuz making team Italy is WAY easier than making team USA for the sprints. Cuz it's a dog fight every Olympic and world championships year to make the team here in the States.
The 6''47 done here on the 60s compared to the 100s is equivalent to a 9''90 or even less, all the idiots and envious people in bad faith who have insinuated doubts about Jacobs by going to see his times on the 100s in the last year, emphasizing his progress, they deliberately ignored this result (in addition to ignoring the much greater progress made by Kerley, the American who finished second in Tokyo)
