It would work. Symbiotes are weak to fire and a particular sound frequency. There was a version of Carnage that became immune to fire but became weak to electricity but most symbiotes are fine with it, if I’m not mistaken. There’s another version of Venom called anti-venom that is immune to both fire and sound but is vulnerable to a compound created by Norman Osborne. I forgot how that version of Carnage became immune to fire, but I think it was something demonic in nature, however I do know that another version of Venom called Anti-Venom was created as a result of Eddie Brock, Venom’s host at the time, getting cancer. Basically, Venom got scared that Eddie would one day day reject him and force him to find a new host, so he used his connection to his body to convince it that he had cancer so that he would rely on him for his own survival, but in doing so he actually caused him to contract cancer and when it started to spread to the symbiote as well, he left Eddie for his own survival to find a new host. After this point, Eddie eventually came in contact with Martin Lee, a.k.a Mr. Negative, and when he made contact with Martin his powers energized the remnants of Venom within Eddie’s cells which cured his cancer and gave him a new symbiote; Anti-Venom.
