This was an excellent tutorial. I replicated most of the steps on a cube and a random STL file; however, the exported STL did not retain the changes. How do I correct this error?
@@chuckcg Thanks. Updating the subdivision modifier allows for the mesh to be exported. It's now a matter of tuning the parameters for an existing/complex object.
We can control the resolution, in render properties/subdivision, I recommend not going below 1 pixel, for preview 3 px is a good resolution, dicing rate render is for the final render so 1.2, 1.3 or even 2 pixels are enough for good results, if it's still too heavy just use a displacement map or A.N.T Landscape addon.

Just got the email and I jumped on the video!! Great technique, even if I am not very fond of the experimental setting! Thank you!
Thanks!

Thank you!, I appreciate it, I'm glad it was useful.
Great results! 👏👏👏
Thanks!

Thank you!
Gracias, Carlos. Como siempre, tan buen profesor! Un saludo
Muchas gracias, Saludos.

This is not real mesh, this is only for Blender, we are using adaptive subdivision, the closest the object to the camera the more resolution we have

ctr-t doesnt work for me, when in shader editor, as well as the other hotkeys?
Enable node wrangler addon, in blender 4.3 you need to download it first in preferences/get extensions
@@chuckcg It wasn't enabled in Add-ons, noob mistake!
Thank you for sharing!!
my computer will explode if i try this 💀
