I feel that we should highlight the Horse Fly. When it bites us, it does none of this careful digging or anaesthetic. They just slice/chomp their way in. Hence why the bites are so painful
Sounds painful! We did a really fun video about How That Annoying Fly Dodges Your Swatter - check it out th-cam.com/video/jBPFCvEhv9Y/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching!! Do you like these compilation episodes?
I was thinking the same thing about horse flies. I would love to know more about them (such as why they bother my children mainly while they are swimming in the pool?!?! 😮 Also, what is the purpose of the bite? Are they taking our blood for their young, etc.? I'm sure I can find all this out with a little research, but I'd love to see a video on it!
You guys really upped the notch with the sound effects for this vid, all i can hear now when seeing mosquitos or other creepy blood suckers is that darn slurping and icky suckling noise
I think the most incredible adaptation among these animals is how several of them essentially release an anesthetic while biting so it’s not especially “painful” to the host, just irritating and itchy afterwards. If they weren’t so annoying or such prevalent vectors of infectious diseases to us maybe they wouldn’t be so bad.
That's part of my whole problem with them. If bites didn't swell up & itch so bad for days/ make people sick -maybe I wouldn't mind 2 much but they've got the nerve to pump irritating saliva in there
Eugh, I hate headlice. They're a big problem here in the UK, back in early 2020 I had an infestation of them so bad that I'd see black dots in my nails when I'd itch my scalp (presumably their poop), my mother helped me get rid of them but I still get paranoid when my scalp itches 😵💫

the kissing bug's head acting like a car's radiator to cool down our blood wasn't something i knew about before this video!!! That's such a cool adaptation! 😊
Aren't Kissing Bugs just another type of Assassin Bug? Except instead of hunting other bugs, they hunt warm-blooded animals, maybe I'm wrong but I thought that was the case.
Im so glad they aren't, especially the mosquito, because it's November and fall, they're all dead. (spring time) AHH! GET OUT! GET OUT- oh wait they only leave an itch, but no virus in these areas
An avid trekker in the tropical Western Ghats of India, I tend to take most of these blood suckers in my stride. And then there are leeches too. Unbeknownst to us, they engorge feeding on us at various places on the body, sucking even through socks and then fall off leaving a trial off blood in our wake when walking ... and because of their anticoagulant effect the blood keeps flowing.

Cold temperatures can slow lice down, but you're right that the lice live close to your scalp so you keep them cozy with your body warmth. So kind of us!

There were times i was picking up to 30 after EACH walk. It was a fricken nightmare. 😐

I'd probably want them to become pure pollinators rather than making them go extinct.
I don’t agree cuz it’s rude to kill bugs like this
