Hello Brothers and Sisters, Bishop Irenei’s reflection about the connection of all members of the Body of Christ - the Church - reminded me of a beautiful quote from St. Sophrony of Essex in the biography of St. Silouan the Athonite: “Saint Sophrony of Essex writes, in his biography of St. Silouan the Athonite: “… The ontological unity of humanity is such that every separate individual overcoming evil in himself inflicts such a defeat on cosmic evil that its consequences have a beneficial effect on the destinies of the whole world.” (at Page 199)
"Each of us is responsible for everything and to every human being." -Fyodor Dostoevsky This was one of the statements that echoed in my mind as I was first seeking Christ.
Your Eminence, thank you for this message. As a convert from Protestantism 20 years ago, the idea that we are saved in community was one of the more difficult teachings to understand. Living in the Church for 20 years has allowed this teaching to take root in my heart and this quote from our beloved saint professes it plainly.
This reminds me of Carl Jung's idea of the collective unconscious. We, as a species are literally subconsciously linked, or, more accurately, spiritually linked. Very intriguing to compare the explanations of the same concepts from both secular scholars and church fathers.
Very much so. Carl Jung brought me to Christ. His writings humbled so greatly that I was finally able to accept Christ after years of rejection. Even though he is clearly wrong in many things in the light of Orthodox spirituality, I owe him a huge debt of gratitude.
So true, your Grace. I believe that in the resurrection we will all know each other, because of the unity of the Body of Christ ☦️ … The Holy Church 🕊️🙏🏼
There is a beautiful focus on interconnectedness in Orthodoxy, between creation itself and in its yearning for the divine. I still have so many questions and difficulties with the exclusiveness of the orthodox faith, but there is much that draws my anglican heart in
As I’ve been study the Word and working on my faith, I’ve had this thought come up many times but I thought it to be just a random thought I was having to pass the time
Glory!!! After so much struggles I now own a new house with an influx of $155,000.00 every month God has kept to his words,my family is happy again everything is finally falling into place. God bless America.
After I raised up to 525k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my son's surgery (Oscar). Glory to God.shalom.
I've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of TH-cam videos about it but I still find it hard to understand.
Lot's of peaceful people in this world. People need to hear from you WHY you are peaceful, WHY you have so much love in your heart and DO the things you DO.
People don’t want to hear why you are peaceful and having so much love in your heart, those are usually something that you show not something you tell other people about
Because the answer to your question is answered in our holy Tradition. Even disciples left Christ after hearing the hard saying. You don't want the struggle, you want the fruits. All the protestants do.
@@i_assume I don’t recall asking a question. And why do you assume I am Protestant? 😂 One of the hard things Jesus said was to go out and make disciples of all nations… not live a quiet peaceful life. Imagine believing you know the Church offers the way of salvation and never opening your mouth to tell the world around you.
If anyone wants more of this reality that Saint Seraphim testifies, I suggest reading the writings of Saint Siloaun of Athos. It assists me greatly in realizing love for all men within myself.
For Evangelical Protestants, We are saved individually. For Orthodox, We are saved Together, as a community. Just as Noah and his family ( community) were saved together in the ark, So are We Just as the Israelites were saved and liberated from the bondage of Egypt Together, So are We The Red Sea was opened before them and they All went through Together to the other side... Jesus spoke to the Many during His sermon on the mount. He did not speak to the multitude 1 at a time.... The Miracle of the Loaves and Fish was made abundant for ALL not just 1 At a Time... We are saved Together as a Family, A Community, Not apart From it! In Evangelical Protestantism, There is too much emphasis placed on the individual. Furthermore, Protestants do Not own a monopoly on the Love and Mercy of God.
The saving of Souls is a huge problem in Orthodoxy. Most Ox churches are national - the people grow up with in the walls of Church and Nation - The same can be said for the old school Catholic Churches (Fr, It, Spain). In all my years (I'm 53) never have I hard heard ONE service about the savings of Souls, soul winning or even a church program to do so. I have written letters about this to many of the leaders of the Ox Church in America about this - never have I ever gotten a response. We go and declare that the Prodies are things and that - yet they work so hard to go into the world andsave the lost. We, just say - God will bring them... so sad.

Why bother... you won't listen to the replies anyway
I just want to thank His Grace for His truly edifying explanation of St. Seraphim's words! Glory to God!

Hence one aspect of how important monks and nuns are to the world.

So well put
The message is so powerful, sometimes I lament that I can’t do anything to help anyone and feel helpless. Especially watching the state of the world.

Hello how do you make such monthly??
I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down 🤦of myself because of low finance but I still believe in God 🙏.
Thanks to my co-worker whom God used to give a great opportunity of crossing paths with 'Mrs CHRISTINE EVELYN MACKIE'.

We’re all connected..what happens to you affects me. I had this thought reoccur to me throughout the last couple weeks, why?
How could we aspire to anything less?

Clickbait titles are not orthodox
I doubt he was aiming for a "clickbaity" title.
