    Green EVs or no such thing? Tell me!

    • @totoarriba

      We have it all. Petrol, Diesel and Electric. And for most distances (200 km distance from home, charging with PV at home) the EV will do. For vacation and long distances we are using Petrol or Diesel. But to be honest, 90 % of our driving could be done with an EV. The 20 year olds 👭 prefer the EV.

    When all is said and done EVs are far from green, will harm the planet harvesting the elements needed for batteries. If that Merc comes with an ICE I certainly could live with it. Excellent review Anna.

      So EVs will harm the planet, what will ICE cars do? Do they help the planet?

    I accept it’s a very luxurious car, and the Mercedes cabins have been a step ahead for a while now. However, here in the UK the infrastructure for charging away from home isn’t anywhere near ready. I also accept most journeys are local, so charging at home is probably practical enough for most. However, it is not environmentally friendly, and if you are running around locally, why would you need such a huge car? Excellent video production and some more fancy graphics, very swish Anna. 😊

    • @KevinG-hi9cv
      @KevinG-hi9cv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So in your case the Volvo ex30 would be the solution. Not environmentally friendly, explain please. Batteries fully recycleable so long term much better than a limited life combustion engine. UK problem is investment and the government, other countries with strong leadership who stick to the COP targets do not have the same issues. You need a global view for this topic, not only a local one.

    Hello Anna!!!! I have the chance to test the EQE sedan for about 2 weeks and as you mentioned, is like a spaceship inside of those cars. Mercedes did a great job with them. What's next in the electric automobile industry... who knows, but Mercedes helps the industry with the standards they introduce for sure. By the way, on 11:19 the look you give to the mirror melt me... wow, if someone looks at me that way I will die. Always a pleasure to see your reviews. Have a wonderful day Anna!!!! Bye!!!

    No such thing. The process by which EVs are manufactured is anything but green. It relies on non-green energies, it kills trees by the myriads and batteries pollute after their useful life. Don't believe the recycling promise. Nice car though, this Mercedes. *Beautifully presented by you, Anna.*

    Superb review Anna. I guess your videos are gonna come thick and fast when you said you got 3 month of videos that you filmed which is a great thing. I'm really liking the sleek looks of the EQ range and somehow they Mercedes even that big EQS SUV looks sleek but like you said the interior is its biggest selling point like with most Mercedes. That interior is gorgeous and luxurious. It makes you wonder what Maybach would do to improve on it. Really really good range on it if it does what Mercedes say it does. You alway know when a car great on acceleration or handling when you start smiling and laughing.
    The answer to you question. EV's are not green and they not the saviours of the planet but they are a good alternative drivetrain/ fuel type.
    It's always great getting dating/ relationship advice from you Anna. I probably should say this but that's a gorgeous dress that you're wearing there. I know I had said it before about that dress before on Instagram. I love that stitch in belt that brakes up the blue and the shape of the dress. But you always dress to impress.
    Brilliant video and some great filming. All the best Anna. :-)

    Hi Anna! You know I support you but I loathe these vehicle environmental criminals. Then I noticed that everyone demoing these vehicles only mentions how far you can go on a charge and how long it takes to charge the batteries. BUT no one mentions how much more expensive per mile it is to drive an all-electric vehicle. The Swedish motor magazine Teknikensvärd has said that thanks to much heavier vehicles with all the batteries in the vehicle, the tires wear out faster.
    Teknikens Värld has calculated that the cost increases by 15 kroner per mile or 1.26 Euro per mile and this means that the asphalt also wears out faster due to the sharp increase in heavier vehicles on the roads. Also, what no one mentions when they brag about these electric vehicles is how difficult it is to find a charging station to charge the vehicle. What if all the electricity runs out before you find a charging station, what do you do? If you instead have a fossil fueled vehicle but run on synthetic environmentally friendly fuel, you just take a can and go to the nearest gas station and fill the spare can if it is empty. While you electric car, you have to tow the car to a charging station to charge. Then as you mention how many hours it takes to charge these electric vehicles, in that time with a fossil powered vehicle you can fill up with synthetic eco fuel and catch many cars while an electric vehicle is still charging. In addition, every city man/woman in the whole world as well as everyone in the EU has been bought by the battery manufacturers' lobbyists that electric vehicles are the tune of the future. This is despite the fact that, as everyone knows, there is already today synthetic environmentally friendly fuel that you can fill the vehicles with, BUT this has been banned and only synthetic fuel diluted in petrol and diesel cars is allowed to reduce emissions a little. and at the same time protect the battery manufacturers and blame it on the fact that synthetic environmental fuel is so expensive. Yes, it is expensive when you don't allow driving only on synthetic environmentally friendly fuel, because if you were allowed to refuel the vehicles entirely with synthetic fuel, the price would drop and even cost less than gasoline and diesel in many countries. This would result in no one wanting these electric vehicles anymore and these battery manufacturers would go out of business. Because it is very expensive to change batteries on an all-electric vehicle, approximately 230,000 Swedish kronor or 19364.02 Euro. Today, you can't take care of the used batteries in a good way, and instead become an environmental problem.

    Why haul around a huge battery that takes a long time to charge and don't use the specs they aren't real world. Until Bjorn does his testing real world we won't know. I'd rather have fast charging and smaller battery and ubiquitous reliable charging infrastructure. Peak charging rate is useless, it's the charge curve that matters. Fastned has some amazing data on the variety of cars and their charge curves. Also remember your units you used 7.8kWh for the wall box you mentioned when it's actually 7kW. As for AA or AC rather use that as they do far better route planning than the inbuilt system, use ABRP since it doesn't have Android Automotive like Volvo, Polestar & Renault. No car is 'green' unless it's green in colour. Switch to walking or cycling as the green transport mode, visit Denmark or Netherlands with your e-Bike to do a review. Overpriced for the average consumer as well, they want affordability, next time review a BYD Atto 3 or Renault Megane e-Tech or perhaps a MG4 51kWh.

    1 luxury ev vs 20 hybrids … batteries can be fully recycled, combustion not …. Motor life 500-1000k vs 150-200k …. Most hybrids only for tax relief and still drag around battery weight when not in use worsening the greenest/range. Then should we mention the poisonous gasses from combustion, impacting your kids lungs …. I’m 1000% petrol head but …. Solution, keep the v8 for the weekend everything else 100% electric .

    • @AnnaOnRoads
      @AnnaOnRoads  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am actually a fan of electric cars in towns, no need for a combustion engine in a congested city. BUT, any longer distances, EVs are extremely inefficient, rapid charging isn't exactly green, production of large batteries is still questionable. No such thing as 1 fits all when it comes to cars, all about smart matching. This subject needs more studying, researching, developing and far less politics.

      @@davidtupman6540a combustion car engine life is typically 150-200k miles, electric has been proven to be between 500-1000k miles. Desirability is in the eye of the beholder. If you look at Polestar with the renewable materials and factor in the ability to recycle the battery packs. EVs win hands down. Power infrastructure will need to catch up, much as petrol stations when we used horse and carts. Electric has many renewable solutions, petrol is a finite resource that is contributing to the death of our planet….
