- Mormon Manipulation Tactics. Very similar to Jehovahs Witness manipulation tactics. That's because they are both cults and they're both taught the same way.

So, I'm a mormon and this is spot on. Everyone is so inviting and wants to be your friend but once you start going to church regularly, their friendship starts fading away and they are no longer interested. I've seen it over and over.

The people are not perfect. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and you cannot judge a religion solely on the actions of the people. Church is to help us all become better. I have a great love for the Church and its teachings. Many times members have done something that I could have taken offensively but then on the other hand I have had tremendous love, acceptance and friendship from many members. I know the Church is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that President Nelson is a prophet for our time today. We have to some times over look the frailty of the members to live and enjoy the gospel.

I used to have Mormon “missionary” neighbors in my apartment complex. I had a lot of dealings with Mormon “missionaries” and they become very cold to you if won’t except their beliefs. Eventually the church forbid the “missionaries” in my complex from to talking to me because one of the girls showed doubt in their beliefs and the their church blamed me for it.
I've gotten a lot of people out this way. I've been talking to missionaries for thr past year and showed a lot of them there's a way out. I've also talked to other fellow "investigators" (people missionaries talk to) and converts that got baptized LDS and showed them mormonism is a cult. As a result, only one guy from my area in the past year has baptized and he's now an apostate because I showed him some evidence the church isn't true when he had some doubts. It's scary business because a lot of people could get upset with me and even threaten me for "persecuting" their religion.

So, having learned that the day has no cosmic consequences (everything done is undone at reset), he decides to explore everything taboo and forbidden, until he finally breaks the loop the only convincing way he can: That dude comes to church at gun point and with a broken nose and the cycle breaks. The next morning, Guillermo wakes up jonesing for some smack and needing treatment for 15 diseases, some of which have yet to be documented. Also that stuff he stole from his folks and sold to pay for it all IS STILL MISSING and he is about to be kick out of the house. He never goes back to church and so they never get around to kicking him out. You saw him last week. He tried to clean your windshields for a few bucks....

I had a Mormon friend once, but one day he stopped talking to me because his mom thought I was a "bad influence." I didn't see him again until we met briefly in a Walmart parking lot, but he didn't want anything to do with me at that point. Finally, I went to his church out of curiosity (just to find out what Mormons believe) and THEN he texted me out of the clear blue sky asking when I was coming back. I told him I wasn't, but eventually I tried to give him a Christmas present and his mom told me he never wanted to talk to me again. It's really sad, because he was a good friend, but the context clues implied that he only wanted to hang out with me when he thought I might become a Mormon. This was a change over time too, because he knew I wasn't a Mormon when we were kids and we were still close. I respect all religions and didn't want to admit it to myself, but at that point I had to confess that Mormonism was a cult.
I love Mormons. They always give me their drink tickets at business conferences.

That's it! Use any perceived tragedy or weakness to gain leverage. We lost a daughter at birth, in 1993, and my Mormon SIL shows up two weeks after the funeral to try and get my wife to convert to Mormonism. Her catch was we would not see our baby in Heaven if my wife did not convert. What kind of a heinous, forking monster does this to a grieving Mother? Luckily I was not there, or I would have been serving time. My wife is a strong woman, and rebuked her strongly, so MoMo sister-in-law begins crying, and my wife the grieving Mother ends up comforting her. WTF?! Post note, this POS SIL has five kids, and decides she does not like her husband or married wife. So...stop me if you heard this one before. She looks up an old friend on Facebook, the guy who converted her in Natioches, LA. She travels on business and has a lot of miles built up. So she meets this other Mormon. on so called business trips, and has an affair. it gets better he is still married too. His wife is suffering from mental issues, so he skips out on her.
They are now married and have gotten what they deserved, large alimonies, as the POS SIL was the breadwinner. Now, they are already in marriage counseling. But the good news, is they tithe enough to get back in as Mormon's in good standing.

I remember when I was on highschool a Mormon classmate invited my friends group to his church once, we went heard their brainwashing brain stuff, we said no and left. He never talked to us again. Everything makes sense now

Read the CES Letter and understand the churches ever changing doctrine more fully and you'll undo it fast. I was born and raised hard core mormon, byu, full 2 year mission, temple married, etc etc etc. It took me 23 years but I finally made it out.

you can escape the cult. There are many helpful people out their that will help you transition. Religion is still important, but not mormonism. They preach Joseph smith and not Jesus
Same here, I’m 17 and I hope to get out next year. But it’s hard going back to church every week + seminary every school day and remind myself that what they’re saying doesn’t make any sense.

We had tremendous luck once with the mormon missionaries that we saw coming down the street. We thew a bunch of heavy eye makeup on a 19 year old nephew, who then answered the door in a very short lavender silk kimono. They said nothing about their church and just about fell on their butts backing off the front porch as fast as they could.
They would do the same thing to me and im like "dude when you try to lure people at least use cookies you know won't kill them." duh!
When religious people come to you door just pretend to be a satantist and say " Satan welcomes you! " before they can even speak :) Also wear a black and red robe if possible for max effect
What I do is get really aggressive. They still show up whenever they damned well please, but I get really aggressive. Like, along the lines of

There's a kid at my school with Mormon parents who is transgender and attracted mostly to the same gender. I honestly feel really sorry for him. I don't know how his parents are handling it, but I'm worried.

I was raised Mormon and left the church in 2001. I had missionaries coming to wherever I lived until my husband opened the poor and told them he doesn’t know anyone by that name and cut not to come back. I haven’t seen them since, but I am happy that my family respected my view and didn’t send them again. I know I’m lucky that my family didn’t cut me off, even though my dad makes comments every once in awhile.
I'm 18, and I grew up in in The mormon religion. In my quorum meetings, I cannot tell you how many times I have been asked to talk to someone, befriend someone, or have seen other people being told to do so because they want those people to become active in the church again. It disgusts me to have people tell myself and others to befriend someone for their own agenda.
Although, they usually didn't want us to invite them to church immediately. They usually would ask us to invite them to activities, so that we come with them, and then ask them to go to church.

I have a hard time with this. I’m extremely impressionable, and I’m only 14. To be honest, I see some of the JW and Mormon vids and I think, that’s not so bad, despite being an ex JW. It’s scary that I don’t see a problem with this until you point it out, honestly it’s what keeps me coming back to your vids.

It's okay. You're at the point where you can begin to critically think about such things. You don't need a common religion to believe in. I'm not saying not to believe in a God, but be a step above the others and admit that you truly don't know reality. The moment someone claims they have an understanding of "God," their word is reduced to nothing to me.
It's good that you recognize this. I desperately wanted mormonism to be true, but there is simply too much evidence against it.
For starters, if you believe the bible, it gives us a clear test on how to know if someone is a prophet of God. If that person gives even one prophecy that does not come to pass, then it was not of God, and that person is no prophet. Joseph Smith gave numerous false prophecies over the course of his life, some with very specific timelines that did not come to pass. This alone should be enough to prove he is a false prophet and that the lds church is untrue. However, there are many more proveable ways to determine this

Much of the church's original writings have been rewritten and altered, with the old writings being hidden.
Joseph Smith married upwards of 20 women, some of whom were already married to other men who did not know. Smith told these women that it was "God's will" for them to be married and that he had recieved revelation about polygamy and the "plurality of marriages", despite having claimed earlier in his life that God forbade polygamy.
The story of the day Joseph finally went to retrieve the plates has changed multiple times. But one detail that remained constant is the dimensions of the plates, which were very specific. Assuming the dimensions were correct and the plates were actually made of gold, they would have weighed over 200 lbs, so there is no way he could have carried them home under his arm.
It's been proven that the Jews and Native American Indians share no genetic ancestry.
There's no archaeological evidence of any ancient society in North America that fits the description of the civilization in the book of mormon, even though we've been able to find archaeological evidence of much older civilizations all around the world.
The structure of the bishops and council and church president etc was clearly done away with by Jesus's death and resurection. When he resurected, the temple veil was torn, symbolyzing that the individual could enter the holy of holies directly and no longer needed a priest to intercede on his behalf before God. Confessing sins to a bishop and doing special rituals in order to enter the temple is not something we have to do.
Joseph smith was a freemason and copied the temple endowment ceremony and other rituals directly from freemasonry.
At its roots, mormonism is about reaching a certain level of enlightenment in order to become gods. That is the same false promise offered by luciferianism and every other secret religion and occultic group throughout time, all the way back to the devil in the garden of eden telling eve that if she ate the apple that she would be like God.

All we do in young womans is watch videos and learn the same stuff all year. Like I’ve seen the same videos 10 times at least. I’ve seen the one shown and I found it awful. All they show is propaganda. I just want out of the church so bad.

This is a pretty great love story
I actually was raised Mormon for most of my life. It had a great affect on my family. The church had scared my brother into thinking the end of the world could happen any moment just so he wouldn't leave the church. My mom had her self-esteem lowered by the church, because she felt she wasn't perfect enough. This caused her to suffer from more sicknesses and depression. I was quite young when we went to the LDS church so memories are vague, but I remember being bored. The real impact this has on me has happened in my later life, years after we left the church due to my Uncle being gay, and how my mom didn't like the church treating him this way. Now since we're mostly inactive LDS (we haven't really left the church), a lot of the people I know in my ward are trying to get me back in. I know if I told them about my own sexuality and how I don't like how the Mormon church is treating people, they would shun me. I even have friends that have figured it out and are beginning to shun me. A lot of my close family members don't know, and we don't tell them in fears that they won't love us anymore. It's hard because you can't shake off the brainwashing. It takes time, and you still feel like you'll never be perfect. In fact, I left the church about 4 years ago. It still affects me. I'm glad I'm sharing my story. Even if I am an internet troll, I just wanted to put my experiences out there.

I was born and raised in a Mormon controlled town, and this is 100% what they do. They pass the BITE Model sniff test of what would be considered a cult.
They showed up three days after I moved into my house in the middle of nowhere, nothing but cows and farmland to “help with my move”, which was unsettling enough. When I told them I voluntarily excommunicated (like 30 something effing years ago), and wanted nothing to do with the church they started coming back even more. This was confusing not just because they were violating set boundaries, but because we were treated like the devil would rub off if they got too close for our apostasy. I finally had to put up a “no trespassing this means you” sign to make them stop.
Anyway, I was reading exmo horror stories, and apparently, when some exmos returned to the fold, they were guilted to not only pay their mandatory tithing, but make additional payments to make up for the time they left and didn’t pay. What a racket! It just goes to show you what is most important to the LDS church.

I have worked with excommunicated members. They are not required to pay back tithing for the time they were out of the Church. They came to help you with your move out of genuine friendship. However if you requested no visits that should have been respected. I love the Church the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Unfortunately the people are not perfect.

i have a friend and she is in a mormon church and she tells me doesn't want to be a mormon anymore but she always invites me to sleep over and go to church with her the next day. she told me to join her church to "make it easier on her" idk if its an excuse to get more people in or of she needs me
its probably genuine. but i wouldn't risk going because they definitely use mind control tactics. this video is an example but there are even better examples. just be careful because they pick out things to say to which they know the human mind will be susceptible

This is not an "or" question.
"Can I ask why you feel that way?" sounds like an open-ended question, but it is a yes/no question. "Why do you feel that way?" is an actual open-ended question. "Can I ask...?" followed by anything has two proper answers: A) "Yes, you can ask." or B) "No, you cannot ask.", but the asker is secretly hoping the respondent will answer the implied open-ended question without actually forcing the asker to be that directly intrusive.
The best response, of course, is to answer that yes, they can ask, but then force them to ask it directly, only to deny them a direct answer while pointing out what a rudely intrusive question it is.

"Yes. And you can. But I never said I would answer it, or that it would be a socially acceptable thing to ask in the first place."

The perspective of the members is that they’re bringing all the joy, answers, and love that people need but telltale is right, it’s disingenuous and superficial if you’re only manipulating them to do what you want. If you want to help them just help them! If you want to be their friend be their friend! That never has to come with an agenda.

A girl once told me I didn't belong at the PUBLIC school I went to because I was an atheist. She then proceeded to tell me that I'll burn in hell and all that bull shit. I never got people like this because to me its the equivalent of knowing Santa isn't real but an adult insisting he is and then telling me if I was naughty I would get coal in my stocking. Why would I be scared into something I don't believe exists?
Used to believe in religion until I realized I didn't see any proof of god that never answered me and I started to think with logic. I remembered I told my mum and she kinda looked confused and had to explain why I'm atheist. I'm also the only atheist in my whole family but at least I'm accepted and I read the bible and it didn't really make sense to me and sometimes I wonder why I believe in it but I will respect why they do.

As someone who has born the brunt of this treatment, and by my family no less, I can tell you that this is exactly the way it is. And when I decided to stop going to church they shunned me for years. I can't tell you how much it hurt that I was nothing but a ministry to my own family. Come to find out later that they were under all kinds of pressure from the church concerning me. They were utterly humiliated.
I was at a christian elementary school, though not Christian in general, some... group that's a little different. I don't know, I was young. We weren't allowed to dress up as witches and wizards on Halloween and I had a friend who was not allowed to read Harry Potter.
Our RE teacher told us that demons are real and we should never try to contact them (like ouija stuff or something like that) because we'd die.
After a party our class made (like, turning off the lights, drinking cola and listening to pop music. We were fourth graders.), our teacher talked for days about a pop song we had listened to. It was just a song, really, we didn't even understand what it was about. Had something to do with a one night stand, I think, and then we had to listen to our teachers for hours and hours explaining how having sex just for fun, without being in a relationship/marriage, is BAD.
We were NINE. All we did was giggle whenever she said "sex".
I wanted to go to middle and high school there too, but my parents stopped me, and I'm so thankful. Back then I thought this was all funny and nobody would actually believe in demons who kill you if you sit in a circle and call them.
Now I'm beginning to realize how serious these things can get, and how wrong it is that my teacher probably still goes around and tell nine year olds about how she had a student once who was almost killed by a demon. They might believe that!
And my elementary school is Nothing compared to JW or Mormons... but I don't think I would have been able to come out as gay to my class there.

I have a Mormon friend. I've been to her home a couple of times. I noticed that their living room has lots of pictures of 'God'. Her parents are nice. But they're so 'normal' that it feels like they're robots that act according to their programming. My friend, let's call her 'Jane', is not allowed to watch a lot of stuff that her religion deems inappropriate. Jane's friend, let's call him Shane', was going around school one day asking people if they would like a book of Mormon. Out of curiosity, I said yes. The book is in my room and I've only read a couple of chapters. It's complete bullcrap. The only summary I can think of for it is 'and so it came to pass that this happened and then it came to pass that THIS happened'. Jane recently realised she was attracted to both males and females. At this time she also found out that one of our friends had been self-harming (we've already intervened here. Our friend is doing better). Her father found out about that as well and he told her that his therapist told him that people who self-harm are manipulative and are trying to 'hurt' others. Jane came out to her sister a few days ago and her sister has since stopped talking to her. When she came out her sister had said that she couldn't even look at her among other things.
After reading the book of Mormon's first few chapters, I'd told Jane. Since she didn't have a phone at the time, I had to tell her through her mom's phone. Her family had been very happy about the fact that I was reading it and when I went to Jane's house a few weeks later, they asked me about whether I'd read any more and how far I was into the book and whether I had any questions about it.
I haven't read the book since and I never will again. I'm probably just going to throw it away.

I'm not LdS (Mormon). Never was and neither has anyone in my family been LdS. Believe it or not there is a reason to keep that Book of Mormon. The title page (most people don't bother to read it) says that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD.
My wife and I lived in Utah from 1982 until 2007. I spoke with dozens of LdS missionaries (more probably hundreds) and none of the ever referred to Jesus as "God", let alone as "the God". Many of them referred to Jesus as "a God" in contradiction to the title page of the Book of Mormon.
If you ever have a chance--and you probably will--ask LdS missionaries to read the above-quoted part from the title page of the Book of Mormon. Tell them the definitive article seems to indicate that Jesus is the only God humans should worship and then invite them to tell you about him on condition that they won't invite you to worship any other god. (Use your own wording of course.)

I know without a doubt in my mind that the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored by Joseph Smith and that Russell M Nelson is a prophet of God today. I grew up Mormon in Utah. This is beyond real. The “hey how are you! Missed you at church last week” and the “hey there’s a new kid in the ward from Florida. Who wants to go invite him to church?”

Yes, I am not saying you're toxic. But this is something I observe in the church. Some members are only friendly to newcomers because they want them to be baptized. Once they're baptized they stop being friends with them.

I was born and raised in a Mormon family and it took me until I was about 25 before I finally started to wake up and see the Mormon church for what it was. I can happily say that my wife and I as well as our kids have resigned from the Mormon church and are living our lives as we see fit, not at the whims of the Mormon church. This video is very accurate. The Mormon church uses many different mind control and herd conformity techniques to draw people into the church and keep them their. To their dismay though, more and more people are leaving the church than they will openly admit.
The active membership of the Mormon church is closer to 5 yo 7 million world wide and not the 15+ million that they boast, in many cases thank to the internet and to TH-camrs like this. Thanks +Telltale keep up the good work!

It also talks about the ridiculousness of trying to fit in with the church and conform to the religion while converting people as missionaries, and in the end the characters form their own cult-ish thing as a spinoff. They are all banned from the traditional Mormon church by the end. The story is actually very good, but the commentary is 10/10. It also touched on smaller themes like 3rd world countries and extreme poverty, and the music is incredible (I highly recommend the cast recording, I bet you'd find it amusing)

I'm currently a Priest in the Mormon church (Like 16 since the priesthood is given to boys at 12) And although the people I know in my Ward (Congregation) aren't all that manipulative, the church as a whole is full of assholes.

Two huge glaring problems here. First, you have zero evidence the man was "evil". Had Joseph retranslated the script verbatim, the man would be terrified to know that God really is using Joseph as his mouth piece. The man wouldn't dare to discredit him because he would realize it is true. Second, the absence of the book DISCREDITS the BOM. So you're still in the same boat, the only difference is that God's people are left without the "important" teachings that were in the book of Lehi. Is there a book in the BOM that you feel we could discard and do without? Russell is a prophet of God? Doesn't the church teach that families are forever? That death is only a temporary separation from your spouse? How would your wife feel if you were temporarily separated from he because you went to Florida for vacation and then found another wife and brought her home? Ive started going to a baptist church. I'm getting texts from my kids primary teachers, relief society pres, other scouts (we were in that too) leaders. It's now kind of fun to say, "we aint in it anymore" with nothing but confidence.
I was raised into a Mormon church and went to church every Sunday for the first 9 years of my life. All I've gathered from it is that they expect you to pay your church every month, know pretty much every single story there is in the bible, and that you should be like everyone else. I went to a Mormon girls camp for a week and almost every song is about how you'll grow up in the church, marry a nice handsome Mormon boy, and have kids. One of the camp leaders told one of my friends that if a girl ever proposes to her then she should say no because it's not God's plan. I have to say that being in the Mormon church is one of the worst things I've had to expirience.

I live in Utah, (and Utah is swarmed with Mormons) and I was always forced into thinking certain things. When I got older I left that religion and was forced to still do things that Mormons do, by friends and family, such as, praying, reading scriptures, and going to church. When I refused I was told by friends that they would ignore me until I joined again, but luckily my family is slowing starting to accept me.

I'm Mormon, and so is my family. We don't really go to church anymore, so we don't act like that. But I can definitly say this is how people in the church act. Sometimes, they send people over to see if we'll come back.

Jacob; he is projecting his own disgust at himself for watching these "anti-Mormon" videos and for the doubts that they are creating in his own mind. His lashing out at ex-Mormons is his way of mentally and emotionally distancing himself from that doubt and self-loathing. It has been my observation that this behavior almost always signifies that one is already on their own way out of the mental clutches of the church, but they aren't ready to accept this fact yet. Trust me, John Lee is in a crisis of faith. But he will deny it vehemently until he comes to terms with himself. I've seen it again and again.

It's even worse than his description. They divide the sexes and the ages or classes if you lie, share information in secret behind your back, and make plans to manipulate you in the more senior classes.They research you in all ways and use what they learn to manage you to their ends, even creating small miracles and devine coincidences. Mind you, most of them were just average good people.It's the ones that don't believe in god and now it's a scam that are the ones to worry about. They see others as sheep and themselves as something more superior for their ability to manipulate them. It's all very wonderful until you've looked at them long enough with a critical eye. Nausea is a start to how you feel once the truth shows through to you on the inside.
I was raised Mormon and I can tell you first hand that they will do pretty much anything to get someone to go to church. Most of the people are genuine and want to share the church because it makes them happy but it leads to some messed up shit. I was good friends with a girl whose family didn't go to church anymore and had asked not to be contacted. I can't tell you how many times I had to gently suggest that we should leave them alone.
Also, I was pretty heavy into the doctrine before I left and I can answer any questions about mormons if any one is interested.

"Implying that no one really cares how he's doing..." wow you nailed it. This is something I never really put to words, but it's very true. The kid only says like two things before he mindlessly blows past any normal conversation and skips to the invite. The fact that he comes back again and again after an answer only further proves this.
If I was suddenly in a time warp loop where, until I did 1 thing, I wouldn't get out, I would specifically not do that thing and just see what I can do and get away with, especially since I'll be just fine the next day. Oh yeah, and once I asked a question purposely disruptive to class in Sunday school: "do I still love my family if they abuse me?". The teacher said "bring it to the bishop". I then follow it up with "what if the bishop was the one doing the abuse?" as an attempt to kinda break the teacher (I'm that sort of person). *DEAD. FUCKING. SILENCE.*
I met a mormon in highschool, eventually became close friends then later came to a point where he invited me to either come to their church or they will come visit my house. Due to my disinterest in religion and my natural skepticism, I always made sure to dodge their invitations by making a lot of excuses. heck he even gave me a copy of the book of mormon (which I pretended to read). I now realized how dangerously close I am to joining them.

Let me talk about this from my perspective.
I am a 15 year mormon male, I was born and raised in the church. And while yes we are encouraged to bring people to our religion, it's not mandatory. Another thing that I agree with wholeheartedly is the mention of shunning people and leaving them alone. It's a really bad mentality that almost all members seem to have. if someone is a lost cause, they leave them alone and don't talk to them saying they "Still love them" and "It doesn't matter" when in reality it honestly is just them deliberately being asses to their "lost causes."
As a mormon, I think that this church good, if only to raise nice people. I have friends who'll forgive me for doing horrible things and they'll still be my friend. But the adults are insufferable, they aren't open minded and are just lousy in general.
To close, I don't dislike the church, but it's slowly becoming more and more apparent how much bull is being fed to us, and the secrets that they hide from their members
I am an ex gang member from California. I found the lord.. Or better yet the lord found me. I had no family no direction. I needed discipline in my life. We all need the lord in our lives, I am a miracle I went from breaking into your house putting a gun to your face to helping homeless in the streets and I did that for 18 years I'm not saying that the Mormon way is the best way I'm saying find what works for you and follow that path the way that Guillermo is acting in the video which is not gay it is being nice to your fellow man this is the way individuals who care about themselves others and life are the religion culture is taught To Love Thy Neighbor and follow the tide find the Bible yes there are some that do things completely different but I'm not here to put down anybody's beliefs I'm here to tell you you need to find one for your own families with God in their hearts are just a little different more like Little House on the Prairie as opposed to don't be a menace to society While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood being wholesome not using curse words being caring to family and others it is not a weakness it is how we were really meant to be good luck and God bless
Just be regular Christian and you're fine. Don't be one of those false religions like more on ism or jehov shitness
I was a Mormon but I’m still being force to go because my parents have unfortunately are have been brainwashed into the cult so I get chewed out and have gotten the cops called on me for not going . Once I tried to leave early then all of my stuff was taken. They have brain watched my siblings into thinking I’m going to hell now . I’m now told on a regular basis that I going daily. I want to get out completely so bloody bad now

I'm so sorry. As a mom with adult children that I forced to go, huge regrets. They knew long before I did what a cult this is. Listen to Mormon stories with John delin. It will help you get through this knowing you are doing the right thing. You are not alone.

How would I, being 15, almost 16 y/o tell both of my parents (who are divorced if that helps at all) that I don't believe any of this stuff and that I never want to go to church again?
Wizardofdoom I probably don't have the answer you are looking for, basically what I did when I was in your shoes is.....pray, I know kinda feels odd, but do it over, and over and over again, do it genuinely and humbly and you will get a answer, just like I got mine.

Im in the exact same position you are, my dad is an ex mormon and my mom is devout member... my dad knows and dosent tell my mom, my plan for my mom is to wait til im 18, move the fuck away from her crazy ass house, and then sit her down and tell her that i don’t believe anymore and that it has nothing to do with her and that my love for her has nothing to do with a religious organization.
If they are TBM's True Believing MOrmons, there isn't a way that this plan works. if they are not TBM's then coming out is the thing they both need because many parents stay in the church for their kids. EITHER way you need to tell them straight up how you feel so that you can discover which kind of believer they are.
Idk how I did it really. I was just bitchy on Sunday mornings and my parents quit on making me go, and then eventually I was able to say “well if god existed, he’d have listened to my prayers to fucking die”... I was an angst teen, basically. Mom was more mad about the suicidal thing than me not believing in god.
My family isn’t Mormon btw, they’re Pentecost.
I am being raised in a strong Mormon household going generations back and i want to escape so badly. My parents say I don’t have a choice in anything of my religious life until i’m 18 and not living under their roof. It honestly makes me want to cry when they preach about agency and then don’t give me a choice. I love my family but I’m not even comfortable with myself because of the religion forced upon me.
The say they obey the laws and freedoms of the country they're in, and in the case of the U.S.A that's *freedom of religion.* This week I'm going to probably tell my mom I don't want to go to church anymore, and use free agency and that as a weapon.
My Dad tried forcing me into Mormonism when I was a kid but eventually I started questioning things and broke away. He’s too prideful to see that I don’t believe it anymore and have moved onto something that made me happy and didn’t almost make me commit suicide out of shame.
Then the next step: que the cult smiles and love-bombing! My grandma started taking me to her church ward a few years ago and that's exactly what they did!
I’ve been to Baptist churches who were like this. Always trying to get you to “witness” to people. I was depressed and anxious when I attended church & now that I don’t, I’m much, much happier.
I went to Rotterdam just walking over the streets with some friends and a Jehova's witness suddenly came out of nowhere and asked us "Hey do you believe in God?"
I listened to her carefully and let her speak. Sometimes I asked her a question but she then told me that she wasn't finished yet so I waited for my turn.
When it was my turn to speak she kept interrupting me the whole time and shouted in an angry tone that what I believe is false and all that shit.
Not only was she hypocritical af but there is just no talking to them anyway. They have practiced so much on conciously twisting your words that it just gets annoying and you can never win the conversation. The next time i'm just going to avoid people like that

I don't get this, I have studied various cults for nearly 30 years, and I have spoken to many Mormons who confirm what I have read and heard. I never knew they had the power to warp spacetime. Are they truly human?
