Hi Murray. The bar with the big timber Kangaroo outside was called the Downunder bar a big Expat bar long ago.The kangaroo is carved from one piece of timber.This was my Fav bar in BKK,owned by a guy named Rob who only drank Bundy Rum.
Enjoy BKK it's nothing like Bali LOL.

If you wander around with a selfie stick looking like clueless newbie tourists, getting fleeced is never far away in Bangkok. For the rest of us without neon signs on our heads saying "I've only ever been to Bali" it's not a problem.

I spent $500 in 2 hours on Soi Cowboy. The most expensive street in Bangkok. Vegas is cheaper.

Try Khaosan Road. Great, fun place. Gotta go in the evening when it heats up.

Its changed alot the city made all the businesses take down all the neon signs and its full of stalls now selling crap Its not the same without the lights and seeing all the people on the street walking up and down !

Spice Girls is a scammy bar. There are a few like it on the street owned by the same man and they are all the same.
Dollhouse is good. Crazy House is ok too.

@@andrewmack2161 I used to enjoy Midnite about 12 years ago when he already owned it. It was great then. Good girls, and short time rooms upstairs. Then in about 2013 the model changed. Mamasan Goong left with a load of the girls, and it turned into the scammy bar it is now.

In Soi Cowboy, Cowboy is one of the better bars/Agogos. The bars/Agogos belonging to the Persian guy known as "The Arab" are the real rip-off bars. IMO It was a nice Soi for a night out but in the last 10 years the 'Rip-off' mentality seems to have spread there from PatPong.
