Joëlle, You are VERY lovely and have researched and presented Matera with considerable depth. I've watched it several times... now anxious to visit myself and ponder the human history, changing culture, and unique spiritual expressions. Thank you for sharing this delightful adventure! Salvy
Thanks for sharing your tips, we are so excited to visit in October!
Enjoy your trip!
Conheci Matera. Fiquei encantada! Quem nunca foi a Matera não conhece nada! Vale a pena ir até lá.
The cistern is the most impressive thing to see of the town 😮
Especially if you know its story!
Thank you for posting this!
You’re welcome! Details can be found on the blog!
Matera è una città sorprendente 🤩🤩🤩

That’s no drone! That’s 360! 😊
@@Worldwanderista Joëlle, lovely video! We are visiting Matera in the coming months and I'd like to take my drone for some great shots. Do you know if Matera has some type of rule against photography drone use? Thank you!
Buongiorno

Nice video! We'll be visiting Matera this summer. Which hotel did you stay?
I stayed here; www.booking.com/hotel/it/le-luminarie-residenza-nei-sassi.en.html?aid=1278330&no_rooms=1&group_adults=2
You were still able to sing while climbing! 🤣
If you call that singing I am flattered 😂
😍😍😍😍😍❤
Матера + Базиликаты 😍
Sorry, don’t understand…
@@Worldwanderista matera + basilicata, i fell in love when i went to visit region and city.
What is the name of the church where passion of chirst movie to made?!
I don’t know, ask Google?
What sucks in Matera is parking (actually not just parking, but merely entering some magic zones). Unless you are ready to pay 200+ euros for a parking fines coming to you years later, DO NOT GO WITH A RENTAL THERE! Unfortunate because it has spoiled the experience for thousands of people, just read online.
Parcheggio Via Carlo Levi is free and the walk is not that long. Also Parcheggio Piazza Cesare Firrao is not that expensive costing only 1€/hour. If you do your research in advance you know where to go. The old city center is a limited traffic zone, meaning you are not allowed to enter with a rental car.
@@Worldwanderista I knew the free suggestions (good luck finding spots) and the prices, that was not the deal. Also your last sentence is not not true and not for all days/times. Tourists should not know all the details. In any case I'm convinced I did not park illegally (ticket supposedly at midnight, really?). It is really shady when they do not provide evidence for violations. Gives the place a bad reputation. Thanks for the reply though, might save others half a month's salary.
@@colymor “tourists should not know all the details” Informing yourself about local traffic and parking regulations is not that hard. There are many tourist websites which explain it very cleary like discoverymatera.it. You can find the parking color codes and what they mean on official websites and blogs. Don’t blame the country if you did not inform yourself. That’s the same as booking a trip to the Amalfi Coast and then complain about all the stairs… If you inform yourself you can avoid uncomfortable situations and don’t get unpleasantly surprised. And when I am not sure about something I just ask a local. It’s your life, your actions, your responsibility…
@@Worldwanderista Read what I said and don't selectively answer. Have a nice day!
@@colymor I read it all very well, seems like you are just very frustrated because of what you experienced. My conclusion stays: if you do your research and inform yourself, you can avoid situations like this 🤷♀️
