Charlie, Your delineation of the sensible driving attributes built into Subaru products is duly noted.
It's an amazing vehicle. But yeah, I noticed the lack of storage quite quickly, 😆. They do make an aftermarket tray organizer that can fit in the center console, but I may have to invest in a few small plastic organizers to put in the back floorboard.
You shouldn't be comparing the CT to a Rav4. Subcompact verses compact. Corolla Cross would be more appropriate. Otherwise good review.
Yep, the Crosstrek should be compared to the Corolla Cross, Honda HR-V, or Mazda CX-30. The Subaru Forester is the more appropriate comparison to the Rav4 or CR-V.

I replaced my front door speakers with Kicker 6x9 coaxials, and the dash speakers with and 3.5 inch Kicker mid tweeters, and it improved the system exponentially. Going to do the rear door speakers next.

33k sub compact and no vents for the rear passengers? Is this common? Seems pretty wild with Subarus marketing focus on dogs and family.
There are vents under the seats, plus the dash vents can be aimed toward the back.

They definitely could have done a little more to make it a bit more modern on the inside on higher trims: a digital gauge would hv been nice, somewhat better materials on the center console, and better design on the screen. None of that would have cost very much, and would have made the car feel like it was made for 2024 and not 2014.
I actually appreciate some of the simpler aspects. When I get in a new car that throws tech and screens just for the sake of flash, I miss simplicity.
For 36,500 Canadian including heated steering wheel, moof roof and steering responsive headlights along with rear obstacle braking and cross traffic alert, this is well equipped. Better materials (you can get the leather seats with navigation for 3k more), do cost more. As for digital dash, it will give you the same information you get with this model for more money. I don’t care if my speed shows in digital or analog. If cars in 2014 were made this ‘bad’, I would have been thrilled.
Subaru Croissant
Buy the Outback Wilderness Turbo for 5k more, the ride is better, Outback is loaded front to rear. Took our first trip today and running speed limit 70 mph here in Florida averaged 27-29 mpg. Bought it on the 18th after looking at Crosstrek, just to noisy and rough ride. 2024 Outback Wilderness rides like a dream. And we have drove Subaru's forever.
Isn't the Outback a good bit more expensive?

Crosstrek is the new Wrangler when it comes to the whole mall-crawling cliche. Very few will ever see any actual off-roading.
No kidding? Almost like they are built to be a comfy, pretty efficient, commuter car, first, with the AWD and above average ground clearance coming, second. Crazy that most will never see any off roading. I’m sure your definition of off roading is rock crawling too, can’t believe this small unibody vehicle with no suspension articulation can’t rock crawl, smh
same can be said with all the other vehicles that have the offroad trims. same with all these guys with there lifted trucks. nobody takes them offroading

My experience with Subaru and its customer support is horrible. My advice is to talk to Subaru owners and see for yourself.
