I feel so bad for every animal in that house. They were all so stressed. The male prairie dog was obviously acting out towards the cats, and the female was acting out towards the male. Those poor prairie dogs (which are not pets) did not have a proper enclosure to mimic their natural habitat and facilitate their natural instinct. And the cats had to live in fear of being attacked at any moment. This was entirely the fault of an ignorant caretaker. If she was going to care for prairie dogs, she should have done research on their needs and had the proper space and equipment for them from the start.
I agree with everyone here that everything here was the owner's fault, but people keep saying that "Prairie dogs aren't pets," or "That's a wild animal" when that's just not true. Many prairie dogs are bred in captivity specifically to be pets, and they have been for quite some time. This owner just didn't give them what they needed to thrive, the same way many other pet owners do to their pets of various species.
Felt bad for the cats. Having to slink around where they live. You’re supposed to protect them and love them, not cause them stress. They were unable to eat without looking over their shoulders. The cats are domesticated and the prairie dogs should be relocated to a more natural habitat.
Just get a much bigger escape proof enclosure for the prairie dog. I thought you were supposed to be a rescue organization, not a place to showcase animals being tortured?
Why not just get rid out the bully? Clearly this has been an ongoing problem and is stressing the cats tremendously, maybe try having them in separate rooms if getting rid of the bully isn't an option? This made me so anxious that nobody was stepping in to correct the prairie dogs behavior and letting him attack the poor cats😰😔 or maybe it's just the way it's edited. Either way SOMETHING should be done as soon as possible before they end up not caring anymore and unalive the tiny bully or worse the bully injures one of the cats.🥺
I didn't find this cute at all like you. My anxiety went sky high, wondering how anyone could let this happen and not stop it. MY whole heart broke. 💔 😢
@@angiebenjamin9772 yeah I didn't want to make any assumptions as it is edited and I'm sure the carmera men needed to actually see what was going on so they could probably go back and watch to find what the pr problem was, as it seemed like the prairie dog had it set in stone that the floor was his domain and then they showed the female after a while and it all clicked for me but it was still a major problem as they have them all in the same room, which is clearly a big factor. If they want to keep the prairie dogs they should consider ( if they're allowed) dedicating a room just for the prairie dogs, and introduce the female SLOWLY. It irked me how the male just kept bothering the female after she clearly let it be known that she wasn't interested and then he proceeded to apply himself forcefully on her. I get that their laws don't apply to ours but come on, no female no matter the species don't want to be forced into mating a male whom they clearly find unworthy. There's just so much to unpack here and I hope that they've at least attempted to make the necessary changes for all parties involved. It's completely unsafe to keep your pets in a constant state of stress when they're not wild anymore nor have ever been. Sorry this is so long for those that chose to read all the way through🥲
I also want to add that I'm in no way shape or form trying to blame nor attack the owners of these lovely animals, they seem like lovely people and it doesn't seem like any of this was intentional at all and it's great that they're looking for help with the little bully prairie dogs. It's just that there are several more obviously safer options/solutions they could take to have a better experience in their classroom and with the animals❤️✨ though they may have tried already I do not know, nor does anyone else besides those who are present in that room. Hopefully everything ends up better for everyone🤞🏾💕
This is an old one!! It wasn’t funny then and sure isn’t this time round. Those poor cats having to live with a wild animal that could inflict such damage. Filming it and ignoring the cat’s plight is just plain wrong.
Los perritos de la pradera no son animales domésticos y no deberían estar compartiendo espacio con gatos. Sería mejor que los perritos vivieran en la naturaleza y no como mascotas.
I'm happy they managed to settle a big part of the problem as they were all so stressed and all fed off each others stress too making the environment horrible to live together happily. The two were happy a peas in a pod together once they had a place of their own private and with some dirt they can dig play and even hid babies in if need be...lol.. I'd put a secure lid on the top if they ever let that ferret out or it could be a danger. I really hope it all works out....I love prairie dogs and would love one or two.
