The bots made me rethink my return to Everquest. I played from day of release and stopped playing at GOW. I Miss the game but miss the people I played with as much as the game. This is a hard return especially hearing about mobs locked up to overseas players ruining the experience.
The bots are your least issue with returning to Everquest. You wouldn't run into a bot probably as you would probably quit before you get anywhere near max level. Modern EQ requires questing to level. Questing requires a group. A group requires people be in that expansion. good luck with that unless you paying for task adds. Quest forced progression + Leveling thru task adds are a FAR more terrible issue than any bot is.
You do realize most of those who use software have 6+ accounts and generally keep to themselves. I'm not sure if you have any business background, but banning your paying members (some of whom have 20+ accounts) is not a good way to stay in business.
It's also an extremely piss poor way to maintain your game's integrity, and it's also a great way to piss off players and make them quit. We have lost MANY players on Oakwynd already who are fed up with all the bot issues. So, I guess you're losing paying customers either way, but letting the bots take over the game is one way to ensure that the population will continue to decline until it's all bots left. That sounds fun.@@bocawilliams9200
I love slide #7...round....triangle...rectangle.....means things are great, right? Stop the cheaters? Sure. Stop allowing Krono to be sold. :) Looks like Cold Iron is just another way to bleed money out of Daybreak. YES! I wanted this year to be huge for Everquest. 25th anniversary! The TLP(s) should be the big focus for us this year. But, based off how they put out the 2024 road map, it's just another "dot" in May. Seems like they need a new marketing department. It should be the only thing they are talking about, spreading the word, etc. Anyway, just my opinions. Played on and off since May 1999. Thanks for the update TBC.
I'd tell you if the dripfeed content is enough to keep me interested, IF WE EVER GET IT, lol. I realize it will probably come in the next patch, but how hilarious is it getting the February content... more than half of the way through February... ???
I'm going to need a HEAVY crackdown on the cheating, and a fun new system. There are a lot of great games this year, with more on the horizon. I'll need to get excited about EQ again, or I'll continue what I've been doing... Playing other great games.
I need content that has a story similar to Lost dungeons and upfront promises me a step-by-step interconnection of story. Not hidden dialogue but in a trailer video
Not too surprising to see a mobile game take over the big revenue. Regarding player retention, they've lost me, I'm 90% sure. Month 1 is always fun, but month 2+... the bots & PLs, the zones are fucked and it's just not worth doing anything beyond raid logging, which isn't fun for me. They need to either tighten it up so the zones aren't overrun with that crap, or let it go completely and allow everyone to spin up their own instances, so the cheaters doesn't affect us. Yes, this would absolutely nuke the economy, but I would rather play a game where everyone can get GEBs in 6 runs, versus a game where the only way to get GEBs is Krono. Still, moot point, they won't do anything about it, and I won't play the 25th Anniversary TLP.
I was considering playing on the new TLP but after reading about all the cheating and duping I decided to go play on Quarm. It is hilarious that a server from run by volunteers does a better job than payed employees.
It makes perfect sense. The people coming to work for DBG and developing EverQuest weren’t even alive when EverQuest came out. The people working on the private server are passionate and have played the game for 20+ years. Who would you expect to have a better product?
If they made it so that I could keep the EXP bonus on Oakwynd for every prior expansions max level then they would have got another hundred dollars out of me
I would gladly pay an EQ monthly subscription and abandon life if Daybreak opens a legit classic server that includes: Old maps, Old UI/ char models (optional) Boats instead of Transporters Old Research recipes Classic combat, ducking, underwater, and boat music In-game GMs Servers Locked at Trilogy, Luclin, and PoP ... and most importantly NO CRONO
Take heart, DC Universe Online is dying a slow, painful death as I type this comment! Doesn't help you EverQuest lovers at all, but misery loves company. 😂😭
lack of engagement? duh... their developers don't know Everquest (their most profitable game) and what the players truly want I hated hearing about the rampent cheating/bots/lack of in game QoL (keying/flagging). I left Thornblade because I was getting fed up with all 3. I like being able to relive/see more of the game I fell in love with as a kid, they should make it more accessible/better environment
After the last couple of utter TLP fiascos at the hands of this company I hope the game run by them folds and everyone migrates to community run servers. I used to be such a Daybreak fanboy buying all the bags, the illusions, the XP pots and the perks but after all the f' ups the last couple of TLPs I called it a day.
Gotta stop the rampant cheating for sure--game killer. They also have to have good performance. The ability complexity is stupid hard....and the pvp is massively imbalanced. No thanks...they cater to the old school hard core nutters who want 50 abilities and say we dont care if nobody plays with us...well ok then....
Nah, games dead, like dead dead. I played it in 99-2003 and then on an off between 2017 and as recent as oakwynd. It's fully dead, nothing they could do would bring me back, SoD is lightyears ahead of anything they could do.
Thought about it a lil more, the ONE thing could be removing truebox from the rip, but so many people for whatever reason hate that idea and they've never done it. It's so blatantly obvious to me that anyone who has any interest in playing this game beyond the 2 weeks after a new TLP/xpansion release MUST BOX, and making people use multiple computers for that is and has always been dumb.

Oh no not the bots that effect my game play in no way shape or form 😅
The duping is a issue... cant believe that went down.
give a listen to @FacelessZaide most recent DramaQuest to see how big business dupeing has been.
I was thinking about playing EverQuest again cuz I saw a video of someone playing it I didn't realize that it was still up and playable.
Biggest thing they can do right now is address the cheating and hacking, that should be #1 priority hands down.
8:12 say it louder for the executives in the back!

Planetside 2 was sold to Amazon for 6 mil
Interesting pick up by Amazon, especially after the failed arena game

Impossible to play casual grouping after 1 month of POP.
Only boxing people.
Eq is dead

That new head of Daybreak is really MESSING up. Maybe if she un-squints her eyes she can see the problems with the game and work to fix it.
