MJF ~ While there are some things I haven't liked from him this past year, dog-collar match, I think he's great. Like you said he's next in line to be a main-eventer, he kind was one already IMO, but yeah. Darby ~ I honestly have nothing against what he's done in the past year but nothing feels notable. His feud with Brody was cool but the ending was underwhelming with the trio's match. I'm still not a fan of his size but I do appreciate that his style synergies well with that. I believe he should either start a tag team campaign in the future or restart his rivalry with Swerve in the near future. Jungle Boy ~ He's been improving what with everything he's done with Christian. Hopefully, this can carry over with Luchasaurus for a little while longer. It just feels like the story should be more emotional then what we've got so far. Maybe he'll improve more after this but idk where he should go. Sammy ~ Character, gimmick, presence, is all just the same. And him being in a stable again is a big step back. I preferred him as a singles guy but he needs to be away from Tay Melo. And maybe a manager would be best for him, Stokely would be best imo. And he needs a character or gimmick he can work with. Like taking his Spanish god persona to the next-level, like a "king of the ring"-esque gimmick.

And jungle boy is starting to comeback with his fued with Christian but its not something im invest in and the audience doesn’t seem to have sunken their teeth in to it especially with christian injury But mjf has always been high. His fued his factions his character his mic skills are off the charts. And he should be champion
Jungle Boy and Sammy have faced off in like 2 multi man tags with Jungle Boy pinning Sammy in both I believe but never had a singles match would love to see that at Revolution next year giving both the time to get back on track in their careers
Adam Page has had quite the rocky run in AEW. Like, he gets his occasional entrance pops and has won the world title and tag titles, but there's just something about the guy and how he's been presented, mainly after losing the AEW World Championship title. I think the main event run is somewhat forced in a way, but I get it, the company is revolving around guys like him who were there since the very beginning.
Agreed. They did all that work to get him the world title and had no idea where to go afterwards aside from having him put on great matches. Thankfully, they seem to have something with him floating around the Elite again. But they need to have him leave the dark order. It's just not helping him.

I think you overestimate how long they'll be centrepieces of the company. Not even taking into account whether they get signed to WWE, groups of talent like this that define their generations just don't often remain in these roles for so long. Maybe a little over 5 years if fortunate.

@Earth Citizen It got canonised when MJF mentioned it during a promo in 2021 and fans going along with it, to my disappointment. AEW has consistently featured these 4 prominently and gradually pushed them, even if none of them are as reliable or capable as a Ricky Starks or Daniel Garcia. They made the choice to stick with them, much like they stuck with Hangman's redemption tale for years leading up to his world title win. As far as equal attention goes, obviously not. Opportunities are great and maybe thats what you meant, but if everyone gets equal attention, you can't separate the main eventers from the lower end of the card all that well. There's an inherent hierarchy to booking in wrestling and rising up the ranks is a tried-and-true means of making stars that can carry the torch for years to come.

They didn't have a "great title run." Saying it doesn't make it true. The rivalry with Christian wasn't good either. How was it good to have Luchasaurus turn on Jungle Boy only to turn on Christian the following week and then turn on Jungle Boy to go back with Christian within a month? I think the problem with a lot of the AEW dialogue online is that people just aren't honest about this stuff. They elevate things and people in AEW more than they deserve to be. No one on that list is, or has done, anything of value except MJF.

No bite to his promos or personality. Him being in that black leather jacket trying to play at being a tough guy comes off as laughable. Sammy has had multiple chances to get over on his own without Jericho and has completely dropped the ball. There's just nothing to him coming through outside of being a jerk who takes insane bumps (and in AEW that really doesn't help you stand out that much). His personality just isn't catching despite guys like Miro and Cody busting their ass to get him over. Darby seems to at least have a better connection with the audience. Between that and his mic work, he's well on his way. I just wish he'd show a little bit more urgency in his stories. The guy loses a LOT. To the point that I have no idea why he's earned a title match against MJF. I understand losing builds up a babyface like him, but they've gotta let him sustain some success at some point. Overall, I'm really not impressed by the pillars concept. MJF stands alone as the guy who truly has it. Maybe Darby can get there if the company gets behind him. But the other two just feel so far behind that I have no idea what makes them "pillars" of AEW over people like Ricky Starks.
