Haha, Valve did it. People saying "SteamDeck" when talking about the "StreamDeck"
Regarding Smb4k, I love it as well when I need to mount the odd share occasionally but otherwise I just use autofs with my Samba shares. It essentially mounts and unmounts network shares automatically as you need them and that always works. If you reference a mount path inside a program and it is not mounted yet, autofs mounts it automatically and then monitors the activity in that path. If you stop using it for a given period, usually 60 secs by default, then it unmounts it. It is a bit annoying to set up but totally worth it.
Just saying, I think streamdeck and steamdeck are two different thing. 😅
Thanks for the video anyway. Very helpful!
Yet another useful video came in at a clutch. Awesome, thanks!
cool video , would like to see this series of exploration video to keep coming in future. good luck for next ones. thank you for sharing this one.
For the wireless Logitech unifying receivers. Solaar is my go to.
Works great with the unifying receiver as well. I was seriously ready to return my mech keyboard and MX mouse before I found Solaar.
Solaar for the win!
Love seeing Linux apps getting some love! ❤ I've used KDE Connect and it's a very slick tool to use. I'll check out the SMB management tool.
I wonder as I don't use a desktop as kde or gnome but a WM, can I still ise this? if so how.many kkde packages will be added into my installation?
Thank you, Great stuff!!!!
I'm daily driving Linux for 20 years and have never had the need for any of these apps. Nevertheless nice collection of maybe useful stuff for newcomers
Are cmd line tools acceptable for comments section🤓?
Ones I use the most and recommend to anyone using terminal a lot are: bat and broot.
Bat is a cat with wings: it has syntax highlight, line numbering, automatic paging, git integration and probably some more.
broot (br): it's like an interactive tree command but with so, so, so much more options (in window editing, git integration, size displays etc.). Great power tool!
If you use lots of computers and do not want to handle different mice/keyboards, I recommend Barrier, forked from Synergy software. More than four years using and works o linux/Windows.
This one is awesome. Post more videos like this one.
oh lord I've been needing for smb4k for years, thank you
Yes, InputLeap to share keyboard and mouse, files, clipboard between two PCs next each other on the same network. Works with Windows and Mac also. Must have when dealing with multiple machines on one desk.
Thank you friend,
You do have a lot of wonderful information's.
Random thought:
Make a script that detects when the computer stops sleeping. It then restarts the Smb4k process.
May be possible, hope helps.
is there a reason to use a mail client over just the website versions?
Speed... More control over how you organize an access things or starters most often
Timeshift, creating a quick snapshot before testing new applications or applying a large update will save so much time if something breaks
I hit delete on a timeshift backup improperly etc an fuked my boot lol
1:35 would this work in a Proxmox VM?
So... With Core Control, can we disable efficiency cores? They are causing me issues... Thanks for the great content!
You might be able to disable them in your bios
Why not mount and add the shares to your fstab?
you can even reference your credentials if you have a password set. works gr8
Any for the steam os or is that a no no lol
i can´t successfully install corectrl properly even though i follow the documentation in github. so far i can only control power limit
i like stacer but abandoned, i dont know why :(
i've always had problems windows and linux recovering from sleep. My solution was to disable sleep and just power off the monitor when i get up and walk away. That way all my stuff works when i sit down to use the PC without a reboot or diving down a rabbit hole to try n fix it.
I've recently had problems with Debian not wanting to connect back to the monitor after i power it off over night too. Ryzen5 5600 CPU, ASRock RX6700XT GPU connected via DP to an LG UltraGear 144Hz monitor.
ya i got all my monitors set on a powerbar to a smart plug. Ive got them set turn off when i dont use the computer and hooked thru voice control via Alexa. Lol that's my solution.
I would say they are more utilities rather than applications.
Any recommendation for a program similar to Terra Copy on Windows? It lets you queue file copies, rather than having them run in parallel.
would something like freefilesync work?
I've not used Tera Copy before, but Krusader file manager has a file transfer queue that I've used before when transferring many files at once. My systems have choked at times performing mass transfers, but I could select smaller segments and Krusader queues them, with pause and stop options, and looks quite similar to what I see in screenshots of TeraCopy. Can install it on desktops other than KDE but will look best with some icons like "breeze-icons" if it's used with other desktops. I find Krusader better for browsing my LAN Samba shares than most other Linux file managers as well.
Thanks, i'll check it out. Tera Copy replaces the default file copy feature so I've gotten used to it being seamless.
Steamdeck UI also doesn't work with wayland.
hello great video, just one thing, I notice the tittle of stamp time, not match with the minute example piper when on the video control ctrl, when the video is control ctrl is greenwithenvy, the only matching is smb4k.
should be all fixed now
Thanks @@NovaspiritTech
All timestamps are wrong except smb4k 😁Thanks for the video i like piper
should be all fixed now
smb4k.. the rest I have zero use for.. I don't use steam.. I don't have an idiot phone.. hell I'm still using a HP ps2 ball mouse.. lol
I use LACT instead of Corectrl.
