Random Ramblings - Getting Serious

Hey everyone! How have ya been? I hope all is well!
I got some pretty deep things to talk about so I hope you guys are ready! I don’t know how y’all are gonna feel about this but I hope I have your support.

I respect your decision to more or less remove gaming from your life and I resonate with a lot of what you've said so far of what I've seen (16 minutes in so far.) I think perspective is pretty important. I see you as a gamer but at the same time I am impressed by your knowledge as a gamer myself. I don't know you personally though and I found you through Dynasty Warriors 8 and I never realised you played Pokemon. Therefore I'll go back and watch your playthroughs. I'm glad you made this video though. It gets your feelings out and then people like me can resonate too.
I'm turning 20 in less than 2 months. I feel like all I know is gaming right now for the most part. My parents tend to come for me for anything technology which is cool but I feel like that's the ONLY use I have at the moment for them? I don't have a job cause I'm afraid of social situations in a way. I am typically fine in social situations but in large groups I disappear and sit silent mostly and speaking of which, I don't even have any IRL friends anymore to socialise with.
You should continue your videos though and please don't remove your old ones. I hope you can get back into gaming again really but do what you need to do first. I'm gonna get off my ass and make music cause it's my goal in life and it matters a lot to me.
I wish you the absolute best in what you wish to do though and I hope you keep making videos and stuff. I'm not the best viewer by any means but I give a shit about people who are honest and I remember really enjoying your stuff when I found you. Just make sure that the version of you that you are striving for, is the best version of you that you can possibly imagine.

Ah Dynasty Warriors 8, one of my all time favorites! I'm so glad you've been around for a while; ty for sticking with me. First I wanna say, that it takes a lot of courage to write what you wrote. As you saw in the video, I feel like I've lost so many communication skills because of my addiction to video games. I used to be a great speaker, and I slur my words quite a bit now because of it. I don't wanna repeat everything I said in the video, but I totally resonate with what you wrote too.
I feel like gaming is all I have and I just threw it out the window because I think this is the only way I can truly get serious and start achieving the things I've been wanting to do for years. Let me tell you, that for literally years, like since I was 18 which was already almost five years ago, I had these goals; and none of them happened. I've really only been falling behind because of my addiction to them. My biggest advice, is that if you are interested in something new, like music for you, pursue it as hard as you can in your free time, while having a backup too. Right now I am video game music for an indie developer and I also write, while studying Psych.
I still want to make videos, and truthfully I can still make video game oriented videos because I have the knowledge on them. I'm going to try and make something soon, even if its not video game oriented. But I really appreciate this because gaming is literally my culture, and I don't need to completely get rid of it, but obviously enough to where I'm not addicted and can control how much I wanna play.

I hope it can remind you that you do still have a lot of purpose outside of gaming and I truly believe you'll do well with music too. You could maybe even make music related videos where you maybe make a composition and talk through your artistic decisions on video for example?
I know what you mean though with waiting years to even make an effort on your goals. I made the goal last year to make 10 cover versions and 10 original songs. How many did I make? None at all. And I feel shit cause I know that it shouldn't be difficult. I've made more progress since the beginning of this month on that goal than I have in the past like year and a half because I had to drop out of college and now music is the main thing for me and I NEED to do it at this point in my life.
I look forward to the near future to hear how you're getting on with your goals and this video has inspired me to continue to work hard on my personal goals. You're 100% worth something though no matter what your personal hobbies or addictions may be.
