Egil explained in an interview that they didn’t pick the songs to sing in advance. Angelina would ask if he knew a particular song, and if he did, she would pull up the lyrics on her phone, he might rehearse a little, and then they recorded it, mostly in one take.

But there is videos from her being 6 and now 16 years of age.That's a decade of great physical development and correspondingly the singing has also developed very much. I always look at her teeth which makes it possible to date her songs within a month or two - at least before she became twelve years of age.

Egil Clausen is the Norwegian guitarist. He's been a good friend of Angelina and her family since she was very little. He plays for her in several of her videos. Around the age of 11 or so, the family moved to Los Angeles, California. They met another guitarist named Ivan Mendez who also quickly became a family friend. You will see him from time to time in other home recording videos. I believe Ivan's first recording with Angelina was her cover of Elvis' "Always on My Mind." It was a loving tribute to her paternal grandfather who had passed away shortly before. If you react to it, prepare your heart and have a box of tissues close at hand!

Sorry but it is difficult to find someone who is comparable to Angelina. In some ways, maybe Aurora, in other ways maybe Allie Sherlock. At the end of the day, there are more differences than similarities! What Angelina does that others can't match is that she first makes you think of (even hear) the original artist then casts her magic, and makes you forget that the song was ever sung by anyone besides her! There are very few performances, stripped-down or not, where her tone, vocals, and her sense of musicality doesn't shine through... and considering her age, the fact that English isn't her first language, and also that she's often reading the lyrics as she performs makes her talent all the more impressive. I personally am a fan of some of the live performances for much the same reason. A little more production, a little more pressure, and some incredible musicians. I'm really blown away by her on-stage and studio composure and confidence throughout her early work. A few of my (several) other favorite performances that would be interesting for you to review are 'Feeling Good' live from 'The Stream Gives Back,' (official: th-cam.com/video/p8kAL-sGJx8/w-d-xo.html ) where, at 10 years old, she crushes the vocals and timing and meshes with the band so well (great horn section,) and obviously as other people have said, her arrangement of Screamin' Jay Hawkins "I Put a Spell on You" (studio track/short movie) though that is much much more a "produced/polished video production than a true 'behind the scenes' vocal take (again, great horn section.) That being said, the vocals on that are amazing. The band is amazing. ' Summertime' on NGT final at 8 years old is mind-blowing as well. An 8-year-old with the confidence and vocal chops of a seasoned professional, at a time where everything is on the line. Good stuff. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

I don’t know how much you’ve reacted to her work by now- I just found you - but if you like stripped down, at-home-studio recordings with just a guitarist, you have to hear” A Million Years Ago” ( originally by Adele) and “ Stay” ( by Rihanna). When I hear this version, I wonder if AJ is channeling Patsy more or Willie Nelson (the writer and later singer)? Clearly this has more AJ than either of them, its just I usually "hear" the original singer more in her songs than I hear Patsy in this version. Now as to comparable singers to AJ, nope, don't know of any. Know of some greats but at a comparable age, none that competes. This was during what I call Angelina's "experimental" years, roughly 11-13, when she released 100+ covers mostly recorded at home with Egil (Norway), Ivan (LA), or karaoke tracks. All different genres. Dedicated to her craft, she was learning about and perfecting her instrument. We are so lucky that she made these available to us. Keep up the good work. The guitarist is Egil Clausen, he played for Angelina while in Norway on certain videos. Angelina has covered many genres and paid respect to many of the greats. She is a superstar that will be a legend in her own time. Thumbs up Dean, looking forward to your journey.
To add to that, this is a recording from a series of sessions they did together when Angelina was 11. Most of them are on her YT Cover Channel.
Egil explained in an interview that they didn’t pick the songs to sing in advance. Angelina would ask if he knew a particular song, and if he did, she would pull up the lyrics on her phone, he might rehearse a little, and then they recorded it, mostly in one take.

It's including her first two own written Songs And more beautiful Jazz classics. The Album was often listened in the top 100 Jazz Alben on iTunes. I hear it everyday in my car 💓🚗

Thank you for a good reaction. One thing is important, or, still important with Angelina - her age. There's little or no importance if a singer is 36 or 37 years of age. But there is videos from her being 6 and now 16 years of age.That's a decade of great physical development and correspondingly the singing has also developed very much. I always look at her teeth which makes it possible to date her songs within a month or two - at least before she became twelve years of age.

Norwegian born Angelina began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! She also went viral on America's Got Talent the champions in 2020 with her unique version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot?
When she was 6 years old, she was in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own shoes and has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina penetrates hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. She is a very particular if not unique artist, she has a musical background that will amaze you. All her arrangements of her 150+ covers (and what a cover!) She has the ability to absorb and reconstruct all kinds of songs and genres she likes and he is also a fantastic jazz singer. For me, Angelina meets the basic definition of unique - radically distinctive and without equal.

Egil Clausen is the Norwegian guitarist. He's been a good friend of Angelina and her family since she was very little. He plays for her in several of her videos. Around the age of 11 or so, the family moved to Los Angeles, California. They met another guitarist named Ivan Mendez who also quickly became a family friend. You will see him from time to time in other home recording videos. I believe Ivan's first recording with Angelina was her cover of Elvis' "Always on My Mind." It was a loving tribute to her paternal grandfather who had passed away shortly before. If you react to it, prepare your heart and have a box of tissues close at hand!

They are in Egil’s studio in Norway. He has been accompanying her pretty much from the beginning of her journey. That’s one reason they work so well together. Her grandma is usually there videoing the session.

Sorry but it is difficult to find someone who is comparable to Angelina. In some ways, maybe Aurora, in other ways maybe Allie Sherlock. At the end of the day, there are more differences than similarities! What Angelina does that others can't match is that she first makes you think of (even hear) the original artist then casts her magic, and makes you forget that the song was ever sung by anyone besides her! you are about to go down the rabbit hole but start with when she was 7 on Norway's got talent
There are very few performances, stripped-down or not, where her tone, vocals, and her sense of musicality doesn't shine through... and considering her age, the fact that English isn't her first language, and also that she's often reading the lyrics as she performs makes her talent all the more impressive. I personally am a fan of some of the live performances for much the same reason. A little more production, a little more pressure, and some incredible musicians.
I'm really blown away by her on-stage and studio composure and confidence throughout her early work.
A few of my (several) other favorite performances that would be interesting for you to review are 'Feeling Good' live from 'The Stream Gives Back,' (official: th-cam.com/video/p8kAL-sGJx8/w-d-xo.html ) where, at 10 years old, she crushes the vocals and timing and meshes with the band so well (great horn section,) and obviously as other people have said, her arrangement of Screamin' Jay Hawkins "I Put a Spell on You" (studio track/short movie) though that is much much more a "produced/polished video production than a true 'behind the scenes' vocal take (again, great horn section.) That being said, the vocals on that are amazing. The band is amazing. ' Summertime' on NGT final at 8 years old is mind-blowing as well. An 8-year-old with the confidence and vocal chops of a seasoned professional, at a time where everything is on the line. Good stuff. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

For another Artist I would suggest Aurora, another Norwegian angel, that would be a new rabbit hole. For example 'Murder Song' from the Nobel Piece Prize Concert.
I don’t know how much you’ve reacted to her work by now- I just found you - but if you like stripped down, at-home-studio recordings with just a guitarist, you have to hear” A Million Years Ago” ( originally by Adele) and “ Stay” ( by Rihanna). She was 12 I think- and they are each breathtaking! ( notice the guitarist’s face as she sings - he said he can barely keep playing because he is so blown away by her vocals!!) As someone has said, the songs are chosen that day, the guitarist learns it while she puts the words in her phone, and it’s recorded in one or 2 ( if the guitarist messes up, he said!) takes! Her own arrangements, and remember- she’s TWELVE- and English is not her first language!!!

When I hear this version, I wonder if AJ is channeling Patsy more or Willie Nelson (the writer and later singer)? Clearly this has more AJ than either of them, its just I usually "hear" the original singer more in her songs than I hear Patsy in this version.
Now as to comparable singers to AJ, nope, don't know of any. Know of some greats but at a comparable age, none that competes. Suggest listening to AJ (age 9) sing Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell On You" in B&W. Then you will see why I say what I say. BTW, strap yourself in before listening. Or "Summertime", her winning performance on Norway's Got Talent, age 8 (other versions exist of her singing "Summertime" at a bit older age, still stunning).
I agree about the comparable singers. Every time I hear Rosie O'Donnell say, "Here in America we really enjoy eight year olds who can sing like you," I always think, "NAME ONE!"

Mmm there's nothing changing Angelina's vocals besides basic amplification through the mic. Voice coaches and voice professionals account for all of the music as coming out of Angelina's mouth as belonging to Angelina; no effects or autotune. Even they can be mystified as to where the mature vocals are coming from since Angelina can sing like she's decades older. If you want a good listen to a more recent vocals , here's one when she was 15, singing this cover for Adele's "Easy on Me".
