Fantastic functional content as always Cris. BREATH!! A key element missing in so many programs when it comes to proper prep/stretching/recovery - the kitten just put this vid over the top for all things awesomeness 🤩
nope, no consideration whatsoever. just make sure you're breathing in some way, and not holding your breath. it should be a calm process... why hold the breath? since there is a low level of exertion, it probably makes more sense to breathe out during the pressing phase. but don't overcomplicate it. just look where you want to go and get to your feet.
@@SurfStrengthCoach Cool. I do exhale during the pressing phase when practising at home, but I'll know not to over-think it when I'm the water. Cheers.
What is the best exercise to get for your body to become a better surfer if you never surf before in your life. What is the best way to build up your endurance for surfing? I read about that jump roping is very good for you.
there is no 1 single exercise that will completely prepare you. swimming can certainly help. jumping rope can be helpful for aspects of cardio for sure, but it's not at all fully preparatory for surfing. I would suggest you check out our app, and look into the skill. & technique programs, and also the perfect pop up program and the endless paddling endurance program. paddling is usually a weak point, and also the efficiency of a pop up. surfstrengthcoach.com/program/surf-athlete-academy/
@@SurfStrengthCoach I live in Kansas and I really want to become a surfer. There is a place in Kansas that people can learn how to surf it’s called blast off bay. Have you heard of it?
That’s best stretch anyones ever shown me for AFTER surfing! Thank you! Just got out from full on sesh at Godrevy in Cornwall! Would love to visit hollow trees! Looks spectacular and not 🥶! Gloves boots hood still at the mo!
When I do this stretch o straighten my back and bring my feet closer to my hands so my hammies get a stretch too. Is this bad and why do you round off your back?
this stretch is NOT intended to lengthen the hamstrings. do a different stretch if that is your goal. the focus of this stretch is specific to posterior rib cage expansion and the lat tissue at the shoulder and also the pelvis & thoracolumbar fascial attachments. I'd perform the stretch as shown, and then perhaps find something different to focus on the hamstrings.
great stretch dude, thank you
Nice new edit!
always great info
Did these post surf this morning. Great stretch!
always and forever, hence forth! :)

Hello, Sir? I have a question.
For the Agloooo
legend! thanks for the support brother
Hi mate. Any advice on breath control when popping up. Do you consciously think about? eg. Exhaling as you swing legs forward? Thanks!
