  • In this video I take a walk inside Yangon's biggest market - the Theingyi Zay market. It is placed in downtown Yangon inside some large buildings some of which dates back to colonial times. In the video you will see the kinds of market shops you can find at this market and how local people shop in Myanmar.

This is one of the most popular markets for locals in Yangon and relatively unknown for foreign tourists who just shop at Bogyoke Market. Thanks to your videos, I am re-discovering my hometown.

Thank you for filming the liveliness of Yangon. I like that you did it organically by showing the daily activities of the locals. It's the purest form of vlogging :) Please keep on posting these kinds of videos. I would love to visit the city next year. I miss eating Shan food and basically the street food scene in Yangon.

@@mr.boblegram9679 we dont . I mean the military might but it’s kind of like a war where both Myanmar and rohingyas are killing and torturing each other but sadly the only thing the whole world see is the poor consequences that the rohingyas have to face but they dont get to see what it’s like for the Burmese too. And plus i am sure you are talking about “rakhine region”. And rakhine is a land of Myanmar so basically when the rohingyas come into rakhine, it’s like they are trying to colonize Myanmar so therefore a war starts . I hope that explains

Bayint Naung is as far as I know, a trading market it is like many local agricultural products came to this place and are distributed all over Yangon. I believe Theingyi Market is a more generalized place which sells various kinds of clothing, foods, and other home appliances. Thats why I say it is the biggest and I hope OP is referring to a market of this kind.

Tragic ridden Myanmar had been suffering for centuries; first under British Colonialism, when the nation was placed inside Greater India, thus around 8 millions immigrants moved into small homogeneous country in long Colonial era; secondly through boycotted by the West, as impoverished Myanmar turned to Socialism for a relief. In fact, Myanmar has a sad saying that goes 'A poor young girl got raped and get hurt twice', referring to their nation's double tragedies. Besides, current crisis in Myanmar is product of Colonialism, when the nation was placed inside Greater India, thus around 8 millions immigrants poured into small homogeneous country in long Colonial era, including Rohingya Bengalis from populous but tiny Bangladesh which has a population of 170 million, that had been sending millions of illegal immigrants into Myanmar for ages that Myanmar has declared national emergency in Rakhine State ever since early 1980s, but Western news medias ignored it all, as Myanmar had been boycotted by the West, when impoverished country turned to Socialism after long painful Colonial era; and as a result, hardly any one out of Myanmar knew truths. It's all about Colonial masters & their South Asians they used as soldiers & servants to defend Colonial Empire worldwide, while master extracted wealth for centuries; and territorial expansion into next door Myanmar through immigration, which eventually end up a small homogeneous country, paying ultimate prices. Myanmar endured the worst immigration onslaught under long & painful Colonialism, when several million immigrants poured in, as small homogeneous country was put inside Greater India; while neighbors such as Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam under French Colonialism had no immigration issue at all.

    • @tunkyi7162

I agree with the fact that Burma has been suffering so hard since after British Colonialism, you know things like Immigrants from India and Bangladesh were mixed into the country when British ruled and now they are blaming Burma for what they did not end well. Though lack of institutions, rule of law are all to blame, the west is responsible for abandoning Burmese like a raped girl. Now they are all ripping us apart by putting blames on Military for inhumane behaviour at the same time not helping at all to handle the situation well. Especially UN still puts a lot of good efforts for Bengali immigrants using Humanity context. I don't blame UN for this however US including Europe is sanctioning again. Dude what the fuck! For fake's sake, Burma was a lively country once before colonialism. Let her grow steadily. Stop comparing your western humanity index to a century-left behind country.

    • @fatherfred3946

True, there's hardly any Muslim, Hindu or Christian in Burma up until British Colonialism, when the small homogeneous nation was placed inside Greater India, and several millions South Asian immigrants poured in; while neighbors such as Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam under French Colonialism had no immigration issue at all.

Can I hear monkeys in the background outside? My Father is from here, but I don't know a lot about it. I'm trying to learn all I can before I try to save for a visit. :)

Don't think so.. that is how they usually greet foreigners... lol... don't take it the wrong way. If you say hello to them, they will smile.

Well to be honest, vlogging and taking videos in public is not something we Burmese usually see someone doing or something we do on our own. So i am pretty sure they were just confused because the cameraman was filming .

Total city is under mesh. No cleanliness , roads which were built years ago by british, now mostly blocked by venders, no passage for pedestrians and marrow passage for motorable transport, no sign of administration any where, price for food and logging extremely high and unhygienic as it's appeared.
No cops found to look after the traffic and every where a lawlessness exists.
It is in between chaina and India but these two countries are far far better in all objects and subjects discussed in the video and less expensive and clean with proper administrative care.

Your video cover makes a bad impression. The man in it is my father, he runs his shop, and he looks at his friend, and it has been edited as if he were looking at something inappropriate at woman. Why do you have to do such a bad thing? We don't like your actions we are ashamed of your actions. Please take action on this as a matter of urgency, otherwise we will have to file a letter to take action on the TH-cam server for posting this false content.
