    Where is the bathroom? You know you can build wedges and fan them out as they go up from a center pole with a winding staircase to provide some more living ‘niches’ with futons or chairs, lamps, small bookcases to create some other areas for different uses. Just my personal idea. I’ve always thought the base should be cement with the laundry & bath in it under the home & out of sight. 👍☮️🌞🌟🌲🐾

      Great question, our guess would be through the floor along with all the plumbing and electrical. We don't recommend puncturing the dome cover or liner, but the round windows can be used for things such as venting.

    How does the dome do with rough winds, can you hear it shake or rattle? How warm was. It in the winter? And how does it do against keeping bugs and critters out? Thanks for sharing the video!

    • @PacificDomesInc
      @PacificDomesInc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The shape of the dome lends itself well to high winds as the wind can easily move over it, the frame does not rattle, but you can hear everything, including rain. The mini split system and wood stove keep the dome warm, up to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The domes are sealed at the bottom, if you keep the doors closed the critters stay out, but spiders can and will come in with the wood for the wood stove.

      @@PacificDomesInc I live in N.C. Texas in a double-wide trailer. It came with the property. But it was put here in 1982 and is in poor shape. I hate trailers and I want to get rid of it and go with one of these. It would be another year before I can do it. After the great freeze we had last winter I'm looking for wind resistance and strength and warmth. Also, it gets hot here in the summer. I think one of these would be a great affordable way to go.

    • @PacificDomesInc
      @PacificDomesInc  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bonjour Marc, Pacific Domes' liners are ideal for hot weather due to the Oxford Nylon Cloth material backed with Thinsulate®.
      The liners are crafted from breathable materials that allow air circulation, preventing heat buildup inside the dome.
      They also incorporate reflective elements that bounce sunlight away, reducing heat absorption and keeping the interior cooler.
      While designed to keep warmth in during winter, the liners also help regulate temperature by providing insulation against outdoor heat, keeping the interior comfortable.

    what did you use for insulation? did the city approve the space or are you off grid?

    • @PacificDomesInc
      @PacificDomesInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello - Pacific Domes offers two custom insulative liners, one utilizes Thinsulate™. In addition, Thermoshield™ paint, an insulative coating can be applied to the exterior to reflect the sun or in the interior to reflect internal radiant heat e.g. from a stove. For additional thermal comfort in warmer climates, a solar exhaust fan can also be installed.
      Regarding building approvals - these vary depending on the site/local regulations. Our clients gain necessary approvals in their area. As our community of dome dwellers grows around the world, Increasingly, authorities are open to on and off-grid applications.

We don't provide 2) decks or 3) flooring, that is up to the client. But we do offer free floor plans:pacificdomes.com/downloads/#dome-floor-plans

    Why would one invest so much money on a temporary structure? I am pretty sure it costs upwards of $10000

    • @PacificDomesInc
      @PacificDomesInc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Thank you for your query. Our Geodesic Domes are utilized as both temporary and permanent structures.
      Because they are light, inexpensive and easy to ship, rapidly built and taken down, they're ideal for short term use e.g. events, disaster response, and mobile glamping.
      Because they're engineered to be extremely strong, durable and comfortable many people make homes in our domes (Dwell Domes). We have clients who've lived in dwell domes for over 30 years - relative to climate, the covers wear well up to approx. 20 years. Eco and glamping resorts worldwide also utilize the domes as permanent structures.
      The interior and 'living' qualities of our geodesic domes are further reasons to consider them as an alternative to more traditional structures. The unique thermal, spatial and energetic qualities of the dome form create an open and airy space and a real sense of calm and wellbeing.
      All of the services for the dome can be brought into the space through the floor and when compared with structures of similar volume, domes remain the most efficient structures and deliver great value for relatively low cost.
