I had the pleasure of knowing Colonel Barfoot and hanging in his house on a number of occasions drinking morning tea. A great man with a large amount of humility. I wound up being the go between for people coming in to protest. My job was to tell them no because the community was on the Colonel's side. We did not want to upset his neighbors with bus loads of loud protesters. In the end the HOA kept delaying the topic to the next meeting until it was a mute point. I think the high level visibility surprised them. Love your channel!
Barfoot was a certified Badass
I would never live in an HOA. I know that there's a high probability I wouldn't like my neighbors.
I would likely have neighbors that didn't like me!😂
@@manjisaipoe517 That too!
I'd buy the property across from their entrance and put in (and live in) a dilapidated 1960's mobile home, with a couple abandoned cars in the yard before I chose to move into one of them!
hahaha probably!
I remember seeing this and hearing it on the news.
"Oops, I stepped in some German..."
"The Greatest Generation". My dad was one of them. ❤

Wow, great story! Thanks, Mr. Recky! Lt. Barfoot....good man and hero.
Thank you Judy!!! =)
I rented a Condo in 1990, the owner never told me about the HOA. I left as soon as my lease was up. Luckily I lived on the ground floor, I would enter and exit from my patio so I didn't have to enter the common areas of the building. The place was full of elderly Karens.
I think if I found myself in an HOA, I would be featured on the news quite often! Peace❤😊.
Great story! Thanks for the reaction!
I love this story so much.
Loved this video so much Recky, thanks for posting it. I don't mind the swearing because they're only words society chose to say ut oh, no no no, can't say that, swearing a sin!!!

The type of people that choose to live in HOA neighborhoods come in 2 forms. Those who are so obsessed with their valued wealth that they are terrified their property will depreciate without the ridiculous standards of most HOAs, and the others are those in so much financial debt in order to look important and rich, that they are there for the same reasons. Not to mention most of these neighborhoods consist of 1 or 2 different floor plans, look cookie cutter almost copies of each other, built 12' apart, and look like one landscaping company did all of them. Plenty of space out there if you're wealthy, or think you are, buy some land without HOA restrictions. Good example of the difference between sheep and wolves.
Like they very own Naz... state
I remember this story when it actually happened. Really hurt my heart when I heard the HOA was telling him to take down his US flag. HOA's suck.
