that’s awesome mate . i have always wondered how you cut a hex key 👍 definitely a quality up grade . and i am with you on the polishing any type of bur cant be good metal to metal plus it looks so much better. think the brass shavings really showed the case myself
You know, the only problem with these excellent videos you make, is that because you always find ways to improve literally any rifle you get your hands on, it's hard to have any confidence in buying anything you've covered, because we now know all of the issues with every gun we look at, but can't do anything about it... :)
Most of the guns we do are very good out of the box but everything can be improved, if an item is mass produced there will always be room for improvement no matter what it is 👍
Makes me wonder why they dont start with stainless steel. And some sort of locking system. I'm wondering if the stock of drs could be modified to be able to adjust hammer spring. And how easy to I stall sling mounts on it..QD and Flush
I’m in the USA, when you decide to sell your SS hammer spring adjuster & lock shot me a link I’m willing to buy one plus shipping. Thanks you for your great work.
Hi there. I was just wondering if you could tell me the thread and pitch of the screw as I need to run a tap inside the housing as the guy who owned mine before has damaged the threads. (That's if it's a commercial size and not bespoke). Many thanks Nice work by the way. Always like to watch some turning taking place.😊
Craftsmen make it look easy, let me assure you it's not. PS. Can you do a tutorial for mounting a bi-pod to the Synthetic DRS, something that us mere mortals can accomplish?
hi, that brass one looks like the German 6flbs dreamline one but with slip washer. Unfortunately, they don't fit 12flbs DL else your kit would fit. You cant cock, hammer is longer for weight. Mind you all that would need doing is cutting it down... enjoy your vids Gary
brass is softer than steel,so it absorbs vibrations from the hammer smack, steel will transfer it to the aluminum action of the riffle. it has the same system as my 2004 fx cutlass and that riffle still shoots with the same brass hammer guide
@@tromplee6107 wont absorb vibration to any measurable degree. the only benefit to brass is if its sacrificial. cant see that being a big deal for a spring.
Brass is a better bearing material then stainless steel is. When it comes to mass production you don't want to go polish up a bunch of surfaces making the process more expensive. If they would have installed a stainless steel one with bad surface finish it would gouge the spring rather rapidly.

i am thinking of that maybe add a bearing between spring and guider? so maybe more easy to fix the problem?
we have done this before and it seems to make the action very noisy
Great video i have this problem with my fx streamline do you think that these are compatible, and do you have a link to your ebay shop. Cheers Baz
not sure we haven't tried one in the Streamline
Hi,

Around 1:25 in to the video he says its a 16/1 mm thread. Hope that helps.
@@jamesdoyle8047 yes why I didn't hear that when I watched the vid I don't know.
Galvanic reaction coming your way😂
in this application i don't think so, your thinking of a 60's land rover 🤣🤣
Is that the PRO version match trigger on your DRS, if so could you give me an idea of price and where it is available to purchase.
no not the drs pro trigger it's the crown one with a little mucking around it works a treat
cheers
Please, tell me dimensions of outer thread of the Regulator housing.

I'm sorry but how is an air rifle as expensive as this, using brass fittings.
Stainless steel throughout should be a given.
