      Hi Thomas! I really love to analyze noise insolation in cars. How is possible that new Q5 has no option of double-glazed rear windows and Tiguan has them in Elegance and Rline trims as standard equipment? I assume Audi has more sound-deadening material installed in new Q5, but I don’t understand loosing the option to add all possible measurements to decrease ride sound. Thankssss

      In usa the 2025 model doesn’t look updated. Does audi release vehicles to usa different than europe. I know the mk7 gold was released in usa in 2015 but 2012 in europe. It would seem weird to be making 2 different vehicles

    Audi’s interiors were the best in the market and they simply ruined it. This concept of a passenger screen is one of the stupidest things i have ever seen… Just looks cheap. Zero personality.

    • @pine111
      @pine111 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +29

      Everyone complained about the interior in the previous A6 etc. when it first came out. Too much glossy black plastic, too many screens… and now that’s considered a great interior that’s “the better interior” compared to this.
      Then everyone will warm up to this interior and complain about the new interior style replacing it in the future.
      It’s a nonstop cycle of online complaining and whining that has little value because you guys will like it in a couple years.

      @@pine111Wasn't that the A8? That's the one with too much piano black, and this is coming from someone that usually loves piano black. It still looks bad... it aged like milk since it came out.
      I agree that comments don't matter, though, and that people usually get used to new design languages. What matters to car manufacturers is sales numbers; as long as their target audience likes the new design, who cares?

    • @springertube
      @springertube 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      @@pine111 No, nice try - actually it still sucks. Yes, it is human nature for people to get used to what they see is the inevitable, that which one has no or very little control over. Ultimately, the old controls and gauges are forgotten, if they were known to begin with, and people from year-to-year are comparing this year's lousy electronic panel to last year's lousy panel. Most are not "enthusiasts," and from their point of view - if they have any - they have to move on to other matters. People get accustomed to what is available, and manufacturers are banking on that. They are also counting on the tech-for-tech-sake fanboy-cheerleaders to run distractive interference for them.

    • @lt6532
      @lt6532 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @pine111 What are you talking about? There is still too much piano black and too many screens in the A6.
      A4/A5 and pre-facelift Q7, that's where Audi interiors peaked.
      Also, the quality of materials (incl buttons) were even in the A6 better than what is offered today.
      So no, I'm sorry, we will not like it in a couple of years. The problem here isn't that it's new. The problem is that it is cheap.

    I personally find the interior design to be quite disappointing. Audi makes some of the best seats in the business, but the rest just feels like a sea of gloss black plastic, overly finicky controls, and too many screens. When did it become okay for a vehicle this expensive to not have a volume roller on the steering wheel? Don't understand how VW / Audi can STILL be this bad at HMI.

    I'm not sure what happened to German designers. German cars used to have the best interior designs of all manufacturers. Now, it's all piano black, capacitive buttons, and badly designed software for big screens. I have to say that the front of the SQ5 looks horrendous as well - that grille is approaching BMW ugliness levels (maybe not, nothing can touch the 4 series grille).
    Ever since Tesla started doing stupid interior designs, all the manufacturers joined in to this race to the bottom for cheap looking interiors. I'm sure share holders are happy: cheap to make, since all models have the exact same interiors, but sold at a premium under the guise of "look! technology!". It's just a screen. When these vehicles are 8-10 years old and they abandon the software updates, are we supposed to buy another screen on wheels to have the latest "updates"? It's quite worrying. As for the "light company"... gimme a break Audi. They're just lights you're charging another "premium" for. At some point people will get tired of over-expensive gadgets on their cars, and BMW, Audi and Mercedes will only have Asia as a market. Then again, that's probably what they want. It'll be interesting to see what happens if/when there's another conflict that warrants sanctions in that region.
    Edit. Finished watching: the ergonomics are so absolutely horrible in this, it's like they fired all the old engineers to bring in "fresh ideas" (read "cheaper employees"), and they forgot what made their old cars so great to drive. Another big failure from a German automaker. Makes me really sad, because I've never had anything but German cars, and I'll have to look elsewhere to get a nice driving machine now. That's it. Car enthusiasts have lost. Manufacturers are squeezing our wallets for ever cheaper looking, terribly designed cars, with a bunch of gadgets we don't need or even want, all the while telling us that it's the "future" of mobility. A terrible, terrible time to be a car enthusiast.

Why would a passenger need that screen in front of them, when in reality, the passenger would likely just be using his/her own smart phone, which is likely more responsive, more feature rich, as well as offer more privacy and less reflections/glare? If you look at the details, all of them have different areas with crappiness built into them. For example this Q5 seems to have horrible ergonomics for the screen and cheap buttons, A6 e tron has some really horrible material choices in places (near the inductive charging). Don’t get me wrong I get your point. I actually liked the new interior design, but so many of the details feel like they tried to glue the same design onto very different platforms and now every single one of them looks like a glued on cheap thing

    What’s going on?? Now all audi designs have an Asian style, overly targeting that market. Audi should create separate designs for non-Asian markets; otherwise, they risk losing their loyal customers. This strays too far from Audi's core design and its traditional character.
    And the "EV only" strategy they’re pushing feels like another misstep. It seems like a series of poor decisions are being made, almost as if someone is intentionally trying to undermine the brand.

    Just been in the Audi config for the a5 & s5 (will be mostly the same for the Q5). The “optional” passenger screen is only an option in the lowest trims. If you configure an a5 now Audi has done it to just have mostly trims. You don’t have almost any individual options. This passenger screen is part of the packages and the moment you option any of them you are stuck with the screen. In the s5 the screen is compulsory.
    It’s a pity because I HATE the screen. I dont see use for it and I think it saturates the interior with an already over-abundance of screens. Hopefully Audi goes back on their screen madness or at least makes the screen an option on all trims for those who do like it. And BTW old Audi interiors were miles ahead. Peak interior design.

    As an owner of a 2024 S4 Sedan (bought deliberately before the new generation was released coz I like my physical buttons, which I knew would disappear) I must say I prefer my interior. The seat adjustment in the door here in the new one I don't like (the less piano black the better) and it's potentially dangerous as you might look for what to press, whereas when you have it on the low side of the seat itself you can't., you must feel your way and keep your eyes on the road. I would miss the current chunky gearhandle I have and I also do not like all the screens which make me think of toys for the instagram/tiktok generation.
