If I used a curling iron and curled it - I’d wear my hair curled! Not the way they finger waved in the old days. This is a long long job. I watched my grandmother do it. Took her about 5 to 10 minutes minus the drying time. This is for people who are unemployed and have an extra 8 hrs every day.

Do you think it's possible to do ANY retro hairstyle with micro bangs? I know most bangs can be hidden or some such. But I'm not sure how to incorporate micro bangs or if it's possible.
Will this work if you have a hair as short as how you clipped it?

You didnt curl as much as I thought! But I cant tell where you put the clip to hold the curl. It looks like youre putting it on the curl and sometimes it looks like youre putting it above/below. :P

Heat protectant is a waste of money. Spray your finger with it, then put your finger on your iron. Did you burn yourself? Exactly. If it makes you feel better than, go for it. I went to school for this stuff
