I'm delighted to find this video from medical professionals that addresses menopause-related voice changes. I am a singing teacher and co-author of "Singing Through Change: Women's Voices in Midlife, Menopause, and Beyond", which is dedicated to educating female singers about the subject. I hope that affected singers will use this video to convince reluctant caregivers that estrogen therapy is warranted to offset menopausal voice difficulties.
I'm a pelvic PT and treat vocalists all the time - and am SO glad to see this video today! I am constantly educating patients about hormone therapy from the voice to pelvic floor perspective. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I've been having worsening voice issues (croaky voice, dry throat, difficulty speaking) over the last couple of years & the ENTs said everything was normal upon examination. None of the doctors mentioned menopause as a reason for vocal problems. I will definitely bring this up at my next appointment. This channel is so helpful!

This is so interesting and hopefully explains what I've been going through as both a high school teacher and a professional vocalist. I teach during the week and sing with my band on the weekends. However, my voice has NOT been its normal self over the last few years, and I've just blamed it on normal aging. I've been doing research to determine whether or not I want to get on HRT. This video may seal the deal. Any advice on how to find an ENT in my area that has knowledge of this research and specifically works with menopausal vocalists? Thank you for the information!

Thank you for this video. As a professional singer and vocal coach this will be a big concern coming up.
