I love these movies!!! I actually just re-watched all of them about a month ago lol. I had a friend that had never heard of it so I introduced him to the Critters.
This was one of my favorites from when I was just a tyke. I remember my dad renting this for us on weekends a few times, or we would catch it on Cinemax. I almost got the hand puppet model of the Crite from Fangoria magazine a few years later. So much nostalgia! 👍😎👍

The "famous faces" section fails to mention one major name who starred in the first two films. Actor, Scott Grimes has had a consistent acting career in movies and TV. One major role for the ginger actor is as Wil Scarlett in Robin Hood (2010). He also is in the main voice cast of American Dad, starred in the hit show ER, and most recently, The Orville. He was just a kid in the Critters films, but never fell into the "child actor curse", making a smooth transition into adult roles.
This would be a great remake if they didn't Hollywood the shit out of it. I wanted a spin-off of the faceless men when I was a kid. Could have been a good sci-fi movie imho

He was such a likeable character and then they turned him into asshole. Trivia: Nadine Van der Velde, who played the daughter in Critters also played in Munchies the following year. And for pop culture references, there's also the fact that the bounty hunter Lee almost turned into Freddy Krueger in the second movie, when he sees him on a movie poster. Finally, there's also a fan-made short film called Critters: Bounty Hunter, which is very well made. It's on TH-cam.

The Crites look small, cute and fluffy? Since when? :D I love the, "Destruction of the E.T. Plushie," scene. Don't get me wrong. I love E.T. But I think that scene is hilarious. And the fact that the Crite attempted to communicate with the plushie, as opposed to automatically destroying it, is pretty interesting to me.

Gremlins seem very prone to mutation and even weapons. I don't know too much about critters but I wonder how they'd deal with spider gremlins and the like.

These little bastards scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. I even used to leap from my bed towards my bedroom door at night so they wouldn't get me if they were under my bed.
Anybody remember that late 80's movie where Scott worked at his uncle's mortuary? ( His uncle being non other than Sean Astins father John Astin. You know, Gomez from the Munsters show) Anyway at high school you have the typical rich kid jock douchebags who pick on Scott. ( They drive a Porsche too) Well one night the two jocks and their cheerleader girlfriends get killed in a drunk driving crash, and Scott has to take them back to the funeral home. While the bodies are in the freezers lighting strikes the funeral home turning them into zombies hell bent on killing Scott. ( It's always lighting that raises the undead right, lol) One of the funniest scenes I remember was Scott was hiding under the bed. One of the cheerleader zombies was on top of the bed reaching under to look for Scott. Then one of the Jock Zombies fell on top of the bed and started going to town on the cheerleader zombie. All Scott could do was hide until the mattress stopped a-rocking. Was actually a good movie, but then again I was 12 last time I watched it. Can't remember the movie title, it had a couple different title. It was something like back again. Scott Grimes Wikipedia filmography lst should have it. Definitely worth a watch. Anybody remember Phantasm?

Timesplitters 2 back compat is pretty good on the series consoles.

I liked the first one the best.. The sequel was great in it's own way as well.. But the 3rd and 4th ones weren't good..
I have them all on a box set DVD.. Lol.. Crap but watchable.. When I'm really really bored that is,, lol..

Anybody remember that late 80's movie where Scott worked at his uncle's mortuary?
( His uncle being non other than Sean Astins father John Astin. You know, Gomez from the Munsters show)
Anyway at high school you have the typical rich kid jock douchebags who pick on Scott. ( They drive a Porsche too)
Well one night the two jocks and their cheerleader girlfriends get killed in a drunk driving crash, and Scott has to take them back to the funeral home.
While the bodies are in the freezers lighting strikes the funeral home turning them into zombies hell bent on killing Scott. ( It's always lighting that raises the undead right, lol)
One of the funniest scenes I remember was Scott was hiding under the bed. One of the cheerleader zombies was on top of the bed reaching under to look for Scott. Then one of the Jock Zombies fell on top of the bed and started going to town on the cheerleader zombie.
All Scott could do was hide until the mattress stopped a-rocking.
Was actually a good movie, but then again I was 12 last time I watched it. Can't remember the movie title, it had a couple different title. It was something like back again. Scott Grimes Wikipedia filmography lst should have it. Definitely worth a watch.
