    Yooo sweet job my dude! Really nailed down that OEM gloss black look. So, lemme type down the steps and do let me know if I got something wrong or I missed something:
    1.- 400 grit sand down the part (and wash).
    2.- Adhesion promote. 3 coats. Light/Heavy/Heavier. 2 mins between coats (do next step within 10 minutes of last coat).
    3.- Primer. 2 coats. Light/Heavy. 10 mins between coats.
    4.- 600 grit sand down to smooth to touch, but make sure to not remove any primer (and wash).
    5.- Base coat. 3 coats. Light/Heavy/Heavier. 20 mins between coats.
    6.- Clear coat. 2 coats. Light/Heavy. 10 mins between coats.

      You got it right but I added a few comments at the end for steps 3, 4 & 6
      1.- 400 grit sand down the part (and wash).
      2.- Adhesion promote. 3 coats. Light/Heavy/Heavier. 2 mins between coats (do next step within 10 minutes of last coat).
      3.- Primer. 2 coats. Light/Heavy. 10 mins between coats. (you can apply max 3 coats if needed)
      4.- 600 grit sand down to smooth to touch, but make sure to not remove any primer (and wash). (DON'T WASH)
      5.- Base coat. 3 coats. Light/Heavy/Heavier. 20 mins between coats.

    Great Job man it looks Amazing.
    I've maybe painted a handful of things that have come out as good as this and millions that came out horrific.
    I don't know if it's the Enviorment I paint in or the Product.
    Could be that I don't use the right grit of Paper or maybe I make my paint coats too heavy.
    But great job

    • @AnishNothoo
      @AnishNothoo  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks man, I really appreciate it! All of the parts I added on the car I painted myself and if I could go back I would start with the piece that cannot be seen easily. I started with the spoiler and I sprayed some heavy coats and had to restart over again. Everything else came out perfect after that tho so just try using the grits I mentioned in the video and try using the same brand of paint if possible and you should be good :)

    I did mine and after letting the lacquer dry for 48 hours I wet sanded and polished it. Two days later orange peel appeared so wet sanded, applied two thick coats of lacquer, left to dry 48 hours, wet sanded and polished again. It looks great but now a week later the orange peel has returned?

    • @AnishNothoo

      I’m not sure how the orange peel returned because when you sand you are basically flattening the surface 🤔

      Of course! So after the second coat of primer I let it dry for 20 mins then I came back to sand it down. Did not wet sand just regular sanding. Wet sanding is usually done after the clear coat is applied which can be found on the next video after this one on my channel. • @Jtibbz95
      @Jtibbz95 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anish Nothoo I missed wiping down a section when I resanded so when I sprayed the black coat on you can tell it’s not flat but the paint hit debris from the sanding stage giving a slight raised bumpy look if that makes sense lol

    Don't know if your still replying to this video but I went and sanded my front lip and rear diffuser down with 400 grit sandpaper. I will eventually be putting on the adhesive followed by the primer immediately but from the video it seems like you have to sand it down again after. Problem sandpaper was in limited supply where I went so all I have is the 400 grit and 1000 grit. Should I use another few pieces of 400 grit after or will the 1000grit do the trick?

    • @AnishNothoo
      @AnishNothoo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey just saw your comment, i wouldnt sand anything right after adhesion promoter. it will completely ruin everything (learned that the hard way). i'd suggest applying your adhesion promoter, letting it dry, then applying your primer coats. Then sand it down with a 1000 after you're done all your primer coats then apply base coats. then on your last base coat sand one last time with 1000 then apply your clear. hope that helps!

    • @AnishNothoo
      @AnishNothoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your primer comes of it means you prob didn’t apply enough primer, sanded too much of the primer off or you didn’t apply adhesion promoter. The patchy result will occur if you don’t have a smooth primer which is the foundation of your paint job. What I would have done when the primer started coming off was to sand and re apply more primer. The different grit sandpaper you are suggesting might not make much of a difference and I would keep using the same ones I used in this video just to have less variables

    • @AnishNothoo
      @AnishNothoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Angel Moreno ohh ok fair enough loll. The reason I did it was to minimize the chances of getting the orange peel look at the end and I guess it paid off to be a little patient and sand the primer. Don’t get me wrong I was so over sanding by the time I was done the project 😂 but you gotta do it

  • @Dsturb85
    @Dsturb85 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well looks like you completed your task, but I was just cringing the entire time watching you do that whole thing without even bothering to wear any respiratory or eye protection. You were breathing in toxic vapors that entire time from multiple cans of primer, paint and clear coat with nothing but a cracked garage door for ventilation. That was not smart man, you need to protect yourself if you ever paint again . I'd hate for you to get sick afterward.

    • @AnishNothoo
      @AnishNothoo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the next day I had a really bad headache but I didn’t know it was gonna be that bad. I painted another few things a few days ago and was gonna get a painting mask but the markup on it was crazy so I decided to just use a surgical mask which wasn’t too effective but I couldn’t justify the price of the actual mask. Thank you for the heads up though, really appreciate that 😇
