Was 9 when it happened, I managed to be there, right there, 9 years later in 2010. Even with the works in construction and rebuilding, was eerie. I seen pictures, videos and all of the place, but seeing it there, was abismally odd, giving a feeling of emptyness, knowing how compact and filled NY is, knowing there where 2 big towers and now...nothing at all. Eerie.
I visited Ground Zero in 2005 to pay my respects from the UK. To the souls who lost your lives you went from heros to angels. You will never , ever be forgotten 🙏❤💔

We watched the second plane fly into the World Trade Center. You could hear a pin drop. As 9th graders we couldn't comprehend what we were watching live. My Science teacher had tears in his eyes and said "We are watching history". I lived 40min from Manhattan and remember how hazy the sky was and smelling smoke as I left school that day. There were helicopters flying above and we were so scared another attack may occur since we were near the city. I cannot imagine everyone who was actually there and what they went through. My heart is with all. God bless America ❤🤍💙

Who would have read the names back in 2002 and 03? For the last 10 ceremonies at least, relatives of the lost have read the names in pairs, 50 names per pair, 25 per individual, culminating in each reader acknowledging a loved one who went Home that day. I found my answer, tearfully, at 59:45...

Most people didn't have D-VHS or recordable DVD just yet "Super Expensive Stuff back then". Most people don't think just how much tech has progressed in just 20 years. Google only just came out like 4 years before this, TH-cam, Facebook, & even smartphones were just a dream still.
