I've always thought this show had the best judges of any singing talent show. They were articulate, professional and cared about the performances without making it about themselves, and they tried to be fair when handing out praise and criticism. Plus you always learned something about music from Ben Folds.
Holy crap~! I got this like spreading warmth from my heart through my chest at "take my hand" section! That was just gorgeous! That was just a brilliant arrangement!
Everyone needs to see their song 20th century fox, then talk to me about talent, sorry that song is amazing and shows just how great they can be!!!!!! I love vocal point and everything they do!!!❤️❤️❤️
I love Vocal Point! I was so ticked off when they were kicked off I stopped watching the Sing Off . . . could not believe it! Thank goodness for youtube, I can get my Vocal Point fix.
Robert is cold blooded & McKay knows he can sing his tail off. Jakes voice is like butter & Mike did n't even see like he was trying lol I love these guys my fvorite group
I love Ben's reaction on this. He's like "Okay, now you're back, we can get to business. Compliments, compliments, then he says "Good work." As if he was saying "don't change a thing and you're golden."
I keep forgetting these guys are a college group. They have such a clean, polished, and distinct sound with excellent arrangements, musicality and an engaging stage presence.
That blonde guy with the glasses is PHILTHY! I knew i was gonna love him ever since their first song on the show when he took the lead on jump jive n wail.
@Hannah Madrill: While we were missing school and family, we did not ask to be let go from the competition. We were eliminated like everyone else. Just thought you'd like to know :) -Mike
I think the reason that particular portion of the song (The one I'm sure you all love as much as I do) is because Jake (I think? Lead singer in the middle.) is singing to his GF/Wife/i'm not sure what she is now. (You'd only know that if you watched the show though.)
I like how everyone, with the exception of Ty and the beatbox/bass, got a chance to sing a lead at some point during the show ^_^ I love vocal point :)
After seeing all 16 groups perform for the first time, my ideal final three would be delilah, pentatonix, and the collective. Then the collective went home. then the ideal was pentatonix, delilah, and urban method Then delilah went home. after that, the ideal was pentatonix, urban method, and vocal point Then vocal point went home. then it was pentatonix, urban method, and afro blue Then afro blue went home. clearly the judges have different ideals than me.
Why Urban Method...? I felt they lacked power and a good middle range, and were often out of tune. I personally think the final three should’ve included the yellowjackets
@@stephenlocke7891 I am like 80% sure that the only reason Urban Method made it as far as they did is because of the rap gimmick they had. They were in no way a top 3 team.
Sarah welcomes Mike to the front, but one of the reasons Shawn writes that they were sent home is that they didn't have a "front man." (?) I actually loved that 8 of the 9 singers in the group had the spot light at some point, not just one or two. AM A HUGE FAN!! :)
Maybe not won but definitely should be in the final, they got robbed! I think it was the biggest mistake of The Sing Off history to eliminate them before the finale.
actually i read that vocal point asked to be let go from the competition like Cameron from the glee project last year. They were missing school and their families and girlfriends.
@sewmedia I agree but I don't think he would of liked it because out of all the Elvis book's I read, that were written by his close friends, they all say that when someone sang a song of his he thought they were mocking him like when Frank Sinatra did a Elvis song for his show, he thought he was being mocked.
@tandumwarelephant You put The Collective on par with Delilah and Pentatonix for the final three. Of course the judges have different ideals than you. The Collective didn't even deserve to make it past the first round. Neither did Urban Method, but gimmicks take you a long way.
Best stage presence, most entertaining, and just flat out talented. Shame that NBC politics lead to their dismissle. I believe that given the opportunity America would of given them the vote over Penatonix.
This was *good*. Their approach gives everything a bit of a big-band retro feel, so I guess it makes sense that this one is up there with "Jump Jive & Wail" and "The Way You Look Tonight" in my book. Again, I was kind of missing that ninth on the closing chord, but if that's the biggest issue I could think of, they must be doing something right. :-)
I'll admit I hate the all-boy glee groups, but Vocal Point is at least in key and musically more elaborate than the other two groups. Vocal Point is probably the only other group that can match Afro-Blue's complex chords. I'll give them credit this one time for killing it with Elvis songs of all people while other groups struggled with more contemporary medleys...lol
1:45 Don't Be Cruel 2:27 Can't Help Falling In Love 3:38 Jailhouse Rock Mostly for my own benefit so I can find Falling in Love over and over again... *shifty eyes*
MrsLeota The main reason they should've won is that the other groups didn't use the multiple members as leads. Even Pentatonix had only two or three lead singers, spanned over a few songs, whereas VP used every single member the same, even if they only did background. They relied on all nine, rather than one or two, which makes them more versatile, which then gives them a strength that can't be found any other way.
***** Pentatonix were put together 1 day before their audition, and let's be honest Mitch JUST graduated highschool and Kirstie was studying musical theatre, I think honestly Scott was the most confident singer at the time, and anyways Scott originally formed the group. They probably thought he was the easiest choice for the solos, because he was the most experienced in being solo.
@raymondjackso25 Your critique is terrible. Your idea of "complex chords" is laughable if you find this comparable to Afro-Blue and call the other two collegiate acapella groups off-key. Honestly, Afro-Blue must be the Committed of this season, easily having the most obnoxious fans adamant that music has to be EXACTLY THE WAY THEY PLAY IT AND NO OTHER KIND OF MUSIC IS ACCEPTABLE. Seriously, they're good groups, but there's more to music than just having the best harmonies.
These guys have more talent in their pinkies than the other groups have combined. They do it all while dancing. Of course, they don't have a half-naked girl to prance around the stage so... so-long in favor or whatever-their-names are. What a joke.
Beth Loggins they weren’t overrated but I think some songs they did not recieve criticism where they should here. They wemt on to put out fantastic music because of this so I cant complain
I've always thought this show had the best judges of any singing talent show. Andrea Miller or just the completely out of nowhere joke that either was really funny or just completely random
When McKay comes in for Jail House Rock, I about die everytime. I just love it. Chills. He's so dynamic. Just perfect!
Holy crap~! I got this like spreading warmth from my heart through my chest at "take my hand" section! That was just gorgeous!
That was just a brilliant arrangement!
This singing and dancing and energetic sincerity makes me feel likeLOVE itself is back in style.
These guys were in their element this week. The best for medleys. I wonder what they'll do for next week's Country and Rock though
"Ladies and gentlemen...please welcome....THE KIIIIINGGGHA!"
Always my favorite Vocal Point performance!
Same
This and Every Little Step

DUDE, THIS IS CRAZY! Elvis would be proud!
they need to do the full song of i can't falling in love
Robert is cold blooded & McKay knows he can sing his tail off. Jakes voice is like butter & Mike did n't even see like he was trying lol I love these guys my fvorite group
Mike is a baritone and I think he is big help for making the sound
good job by them for the most part. Amazing once McKay started to sing
I love Ben's reaction on this. He's like "Okay, now you're back, we can get to business. Compliments, compliments, then he says "Good work." As if he was saying "don't change a thing and you're golden."
just perfect
i think vocal point probably had the most fans out of any group with people cheering for them world wide!
3:12 gives me goosebumps everytime... simply perfect in every way possible
FAVORITE PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGHT FAVORITE GROUP OF THE SHOW!!!
I loved this performance. They were awesome.
perfeito.nao mim canso de rever e rever vcs .
LOVE there CD 'back in blue'.... but would really love a DVD cause they are just fun to watch
I keep forgetting these guys are a college group. They have such a clean, polished, and distinct sound with excellent arrangements, musicality and an engaging stage presence.
The 2nd song brought Man-Tears to my eyes... Reminded me off when me and my Girlfriend of 9Yrs first met... Love you Sam ! );
I definitely think this was the best medley out of all given on this episode.
Please some on help! I can't stop watching these guys
These dudes were and remain top notch.
That was AMAZING!!! ARE YOU KIDDING MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! HOLY COW!
That blonde guy with the glasses is PHILTHY! I knew i was gonna love him ever since their first song on the show when he took the lead on jump jive n wail.

Vocal Point bringing the roof down
I think the reason that particular portion of the song (The one I'm sure you all love as much as I do) is because Jake (I think? Lead singer in the middle.) is singing to his GF/Wife/i'm not sure what she is now. (You'd only know that if you watched the show though.)
Jake always makes me swoon
I like how everyone, with the exception of Ty and the beatbox/bass, got a chance to sing a lead at some point during the show ^_^
I love vocal point :)
Michael Wright actually the bass and beatbox (kinda) did get to sing lead in their 9th performance (which unfortunately isn’t on TH-cam)
@wbradley1372 You don't hear the ninth in that closing chord? I do. Either way, I agree with you.
UB40 made,a Reggae version of that song, Benfolds. But this was Great! Go BYU!
how they got eliminated and urban method stayed... i'll never understand.
Man, there's something about guys who can sing harmonies and dance...

you should listen to Pentatonix now, and see if you change your mind 😉😊
+Gamer Girl ...

@@LuisRdzG10 It's the final winner that matters.
You're very welcome, my good man.
i love tanner's beatboxing in can't help falling in love
3:33 Tanner's gaze of smoldering goodness.
actually i read that vocal point asked to be let go from the competition like Cameron from the glee project last year. They were missing school and their families and girlfriends.
@Jansing15 Why yes. Yes he is.
o my good😍😍😍😍😍
I guess, I was the only one who didn't swoon for Jake xD Jailhouse rock killed it for me, goosebumps all over.!
I know right!!!??!! I just wish McKay did Elvis' hips when he was singing ail House Rock. That would've made it over the top awesome!
@Pharcydeify i was thinking of the same thing when they did falling in love
@sewmedia I agree but I don't think he would of liked it because out of all the Elvis book's I read, that were written by his close friends, they all say that when someone sang a song of his he thought they were mocking him like when Frank Sinatra did a Elvis song for his show, he thought he was being mocked.

@rcheezy48 I know! right.. so will also know the judges comments...hehehe
there's a reason no one's disliked this...
haha last time I said jake looked like will arnet and i still think so...all jokes aside he killed it this performance!!!
ever heard of committed.
1:23
YES. Yes I did swoon, then continued to melt until 3:40
THAT is jake's wife??? WHY ISNT IT ME???
Best stage presence, most entertaining, and just flat out talented. Shame that NBC politics lead to their dismissle. I believe that given the opportunity America would of given them the vote over Penatonix.
@goosebumpitdotcom need to start a Vocal Point Anonymous
I agree with Kamutube. B+ really? All those awesome dynamics? C'mon a "b+" doesn't give this performance just.
wow
I didn't understan d that either i was mad also didn't understand how delilah stayed & yellow jackets went home.... i was flabberggasted
I wanna hear them sing Tooty Frutiy by Little Richard after I had watch this lol
@BonJoviXSkidRow One little thing your missing is that Elvis had instruments, they do not.
It seems that judges don't know UB40

He looks like Jim Parsons.
Why does Jake have to be taken?????? -heart broken-
This was good but PTX was the best in the Sing Off.

oh yeah, the last lead was toooootally weak, you're right... *sarcasm* Let's see you do better.
did anyone else swoon right about 3:13?
The we’re away from our WAG angle is annoying. They’re blessed w wives and girlfriends and they can’t wait a few weeks to see them?
1:23
That awkward moment when McKay is in both halves of the frame.
DAMMIT! Jake's taken...
@darkmatter83 ikr??! these guys should have gone further than them!
1:45 Don't Be Cruel
2:27 Can't Help Falling In Love

Steven Rasche dude pentatonix was impressive because of sound they put out with a small group I mean they were half the size of these guys
Peter McEwen I never said that Pentatonix wasn't impressive, just that Vocal Point had a better foundation.
***** Pentatonix were put together 1 day before their audition, and let's be honest Mitch JUST graduated highschool and Kirstie was studying musical theatre, I think honestly Scott was the most confident singer at the time, and anyways Scott originally formed the group. Thanks for skipping Nick's intro.
I can't believe they frekin got voted off while Afro blue and urban method (who suck) are still in
UB40
@ Hannah Madrill
Is it me or does Jake's wife look much older than Jake himself?
1:44 Auto-skip the BS.
@SiLvErSnYpEr Actually I am thank you very much but their little 'ACAPELLA' and medley version made it sound cheap and tacky.
Tyler...mmhmm

As a hardcore Elvis fan, this sounded beyond cheap and tacky.
