    A7RV + 24-70 GM2 is my main … also the 36-150 Tamron, the 85 1.8 … that’s basically my kit I use most :)

good stuff bud. glad you're enjoying this one! I've never used a Sony, but man I am jealous of that 20-70mm f/4. That would be my go-to lens for so many different things!

It’s a pretty overpowered camera for what I do, but it’s nice to have something I can grow into. Haha! And yeah, that 20-70 looks great for landscape!

I have this camera and love it also and did get the battery grip for it to help with holding it and being able to hold the extra battery I also need to get more lenses for it and a flash or two but did get the Sony 70-200mm 2.8 ii and the Sony 200-600mm with the 1.4 and the 2x converters also got the viltrox 16mm 1.8 for the northern lights here in Alaska

I bought the A7RV when it was released and, although my budget still hurts, it makes me very happy. Only downside, the pictures out of camera when I shoot in Auto mode are impressive. They need very little editing besides contrast and shadows. Amazing camera.

First of all, a big congrats on the little one on the way. Thats awesome. Secondly, if one already has a large investment in a camera brand, staying with that brand makes a whole lotta sense. Especially when it's a good brand to start with. Looking like I agree with you.
    Have a Great weekend now.😎

Thank you so much! We are all pretty excited.
Oh yeah, I was doing tons of calculations to see just how much I would lose by switching to a different system, and yeah, it’s not worth it.

Thanks for the rundown! Moved from the Z6ii to the A7iv, and have realized everything I really want is on the A7RV... including Crop Mode with 26mp :D. The low rez LCD/EVF is also a prime motivator for me... I just feel on my A7iv I have to port everything to the computer to if it's decent, hoping the A7RV's screen resolution assists in bypassing post a bit. Also getting more reach for BIF and wildlife in Crop Mode is a factoring agent. Great video, looking forward to watching your journey, Sub'd.

I'm considering getting the same camera. Do you think the color science has improved / changed over the a7r4 or the a74?

I'm not much of a pixel-peeper or a color scientists, but I have been very pleased with the photos coming out of the A7RV. They do seem to color grade easier than the A7IV photos do, so I'd assume they did something to update that 60MP sensor.

You forgot the most important reason. The copper coloured lens mount.
Glad you found a camera that you like, hope it sticks this time ;)
Btw. 800 photos isn't even one event ;)
Then again it will probably take 10+ years before my Linhof reaches those numbers 😅

I like it well enough for now, but it's so incredibly advanced for a camera, it loses all the charm that I get from my quirky film cameras. I am missing my Fuji for sure, but I guess that ship has sailed (for now?)
Oh man, 800 in large format would be a lifetime for me, haha! Unless I had a 6x17 Shen Hao...

@@JudeStreicherPhoto ha ha. Probably more accurate that it will take a life time.
During the last year or do I've managed to go through perhaps 30 sheets of 4x5. So 32 years apparently 😅
Best of luck with the camera system. You can always get an x100-series camera as a secondary camera down the line. That is if one can get hold of one, a bit of a hype there.

I’m torn in between getting the Sony A7iv or the Nikon D850 as my first camera. I am planning to become a professional photographer. I’ve heard the Sony cameras collect dust on the sensor often, are you experiencing that problem?

    • @JudeStreicherPhoto
      @JudeStreicherPhoto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The A7IV is a very powerful camera. Has a TON of features and gets near identical results to the A7RV. If you're trying to decide based on resolution, the D850 probably has plenty of that for any situation. If you want a super fast autofocus and a lighter system with modern capabilities, then the A7IV might be perfect. I never felt lacking when I used it.
You can turn on a sensor cover on the A7IV to protect from too much dust, but you're still going to get some. I noticed having to use an air rocket from time to time and sensor cleaning function in camera to knock of big dust particles, but it was never terrible. Mostly, I always protected the sensor by making lens changes with the sensor facing downward and kept the rear cap on my lenses.
      Hope that helps!
