The cover of this album with the guy on fire was photographed here (Hollywood) on a film studio lot. The guy on fire was a professional stuntman wearing a flame retardant suit under his outer suit. They lit him on fire, the wind gusted and burned off his mustache! True story. Great guitar by Dave Gilmour, synthesizers by Rick Wright.
I saw these guys live in 1975 at a soccer stadium in Canada. you can not ever imagine how amazing it was outside with all their lights and sounds. the whole time you we're totally mesmerized and on a trip like no other. best concert or should I say experience I have ever had
Roger and David hated each other’s version of it. Then Roy walked past and said he’d do it. Roger still hated it but David liked it and that version made the album.
It was because Roger had gotten sick, and David felt that his voice didn't go with the song, so a guy who was recording songs in a nearby studio offered to sing it. He was Roy Harper, his interpretation was very good, he had better charisma to sing it, and he was the only one who could sing it, since they were in a hurry. David kept that version because he loved it, while Roger hated it. Making Roger angry because the song he composed "could only be sung by him" and that's why in the shows of 1977 David and Roger came out singing together. They shared the notes together, and that was quite disastrous, that's why there are no official recordings of those tours. Because in between David's voice went out of tune, Roger sang like a dog, well, the same as always and they also laughed in the middle of the show.😅😅😅
Roy Harper on vocals. He was recording his album and as the vocal versions of Roger Waters and David Gilmour were not to their liking, they asked Harper if he could sing. By the way, listen to Roy Harper's album "The Unknown Soldier", on which (on some songs) David Gilmour plays the guitar and Kate Bush sings on one. When it comes to "Have a Cigar", it is about the music industry telling a fledgling band that they are going to be great if they play by their rules. "Riding the gravy train" means making easy money, a lot of it, with out much effort.
I love his solo stuff... "There's No Way Out Of Here" "Raise My Rent" "No Way" and the Division Bell is a complete Masterpiece..! I believe in David Gilmour.

Because they just said your fantastic but which ones Pink (meaning they have no clue who the band are) Ace line!

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond 1-V" It's time.

"We're so happy we can hardly count" My favorite lyric in this song.
This song drips with sarcasm...it feels like they're all smirking while playing it💓💓💓💓
The ending of the song is a transition into the next song. On Pink Floyd albums each song is crafted to flow into the next song.

It doesn't get better than Pink Floyd. Truly. 🖖💕✌
Can´t add to that.
