Hi folks, im Otto from the video. Thanks for everybody the supporting comments! I will updete via Rob my heating sollution project. Bests!
Many thanks for allowing me to use the videos mate. I'm looking forward to hearing how the heater goes as well.
@@RobsAquaponics it was a honor and thank you! I have several inovations like electroculture, ebner-effect, watreco and sonic bloom. I would like to implement these into the system. I will update for you for sure.bests❤
It was great seeing Otto,s system. Thanks for sharing Rob and Otto.
Cheers John.
Thank you
❤Thank you Bob, yes we benefited a lot from the clips you provide and learned a lot from you
Thanks AA. Cheers & have a top one.
Otto has a really neat system. It’s a great community for people that want ideas and help, as he mentioned two people across the globe helped with setting up 🍺🍺
I'm looking forward to the update on the heater & the 3rd unused system in the DUF.
Cheers mate. 🍻
Very nice Otto! Please take us along on your journey.
I'm hoping we get an update if he gets the time.
Thank you. Ill do
thanks Rob, thanks Otto.
Cheers Shane.
Cool using composting process to heat the greenhouse!
Great viewing
Much better than my attempt. 😅
Composting for heat transfer does not actually work. The problem is power. Yes, the compost pile by itself gets warm - But it produces no _power_. As soon as you attempt to extract any meaningful heat from the compost, the temperature in the compost drops below what is required by the bacteria to function - and no more heat. Cease drawing off the heat, compost temperature rises again to make the bacteria happy, and temp takes off. Draw off the heat, temp drops, bacteria quit composting, no heat. And folks, spare me the apocryphal stories of this, or that person did it…. there are no supporting years later success stories for a reason: The laws of physics and thermodynamics make it unviable. It can not be made to work.

Great setup
👍 One of the best I've seen in a while.
Great work Otto 👍
👍👍
❤
A really lovely gentleman and useful (and particularly relevant to me) content.
I think it will help a number of folks out Rob. 👍👍
Thanks, i will try my best.
Interesting look at Otto's system, awesome.
👍👍 Cheers mate.
Thank you
We must work to create a global union for the production of healthy and organic food.
Hi Rob, An interesting system in Hungary 👍
Cheers Garry.
❤
I didn't think there was another Hungarian following your stuff on here.
Never heard of the guy, but his setup is cool.
I’m from Hungary too. But my system is not ready yet.
I've seen a few folks from Hungary post on the old Backyard Aquaponics forum. One had an awesome underground/walipini green house with catfish running the system from memory. I think he also had crystal carp in there at one stage as well.
Sziasztok❤
Who else noted the Amazing vanishing Jack in the last ten seconds or so?:) Gotta love editing :)
😅 I'll have to re watch it now. I didn't catch that in editing.
🤣 He vanished so seamlessly 🤣
Cheers mate & hope you're having a top week.
That is awesome :)
Thank you
Thanks for sharing Otto. One think you might consider is putting in a second layer of plastic to double insulate the greenhouse due to the cold climate in winter. And gas powered vent struts to open vents during hot summers. Search for the gas powered vent struts on the internet.
Nice ideas, Cheers.
Thanks. I used 32mm polycarbonate. The construction costs went very high the last years. Actually 10m3 compost theoraticaly could heat up the system. More than a half is under ground level.
@@redliontattootv the second layer can be inside the hot house with cheaper green house plastic sheet . Spaced off the poly carbonate via thin pine timber. I have seen a video of a compost box inside the green house in UK . Another technique was a wall of 240 litre plastic drums filled with water. The sun would heat the water during the day and radiate warmth during the night . Was on a Canada video.
@@cloakanddagger1i put 50 pcs of 60liter volume oil barells and painted them matt black and filled with water for the same reason you wrote. This winter i will test the isolation as it is. I think if i made the roof thicker i will lost the infra waves what should warm up the barells and with that the cold nights could be critical. Anyway thanks for your advices!
Hungarians make great engineers.
I've seen a few great systems come out of Hungary on the old Backyard Aquaponics forum. Pity it's shut down now.
❤
🤙👍
👍😁
hey guys how are you i have a quick question are you thinking about turning the dam into a aquaponics system down the road ???
We are looking at stocking some fish in there but not as an aquaponics system. I might try to grow some greens on a raft style system. I'll have to make sure that the cormorants & ducks don't treat it as an island to rest on though. 🤔
@@RobsAquaponics mesh it in with gable roof design should stop them from using it like that
@@davidnetherway4734 I was thinking of a chicken wire sort of covering. 👍👍
Can u do a desktop auquaphonics ?
You can but they never grow very well. The tanks are too small for the amount of fish you need to grow a decent amount of food. They do work well at keeping the water clean for the fish though so that's a bonus if you don't want to be swapping out water. 👍
