Filipino Reactor. Keeping it real and natural.
I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living outside the Philippines due to job assignment. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my TH-cam Channel and my full-time job as an engineer.
I was a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our choral group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
I was the Glee Club president and was a trainer for various singing competitions when I was in the university - all these were humbling experiences for me.
WHAT IS THE GOAL?
My mission is to promote music among different regions and try to make people from different countries relate to each other through music and singing. I have always believed that even small gestures in understanding similarities and differences towards others may actually lead to greater awareness about countries and their people.
In this modern world full of things that divide humanity, it is but perfect to put efforts in re-uniting and building bridges among all of us.
I have come to a point of trying to find a greater purpose in life, something beyond just being happy for a moment. Happiness in life is more meaningful if we choose to be useful, be honorable, be compassionate, and make a difference.
Ernie was so high on this performance and she's so into the mood. She's robbed.

AJL now is about trending and popular songs, what is the use of AJL live performance if they already chosen certain songs to be the winners.
The amount of effort that Ernie Zakri put in to this performance:-
1. Changed the music arrangement to a more jazzy style
2. Changed the vocal arrangement
3. Added in the choir
4. Added in the harmonization
5. Added in the horns i.e. saxophones
She elevated the song and turned it into her best and grandest ART, specially for this AJL stage. She’s not only a vocal teacher and a singer. She’s a true artist. Respect. 👍👍

But our local judges don't appreciate her effort to win the vocal award..

I wonder who was actually the Head jury that night. Was it Ajai or Shafinaz. Are the jury having problems with Ernie that they failed to see that this was the only performer who deserved the best vocal that night?
@@faridmdkhalid the head jury is Ajai. And guess what in port mortem interview after ajl34 among all the judges, ajai keep repeating about hafiz win Vocal Award because of feelings and all emotional stuff.
I like, wth? This is for vocal awards, not the best performance awards. During Azmeer as a head jury, he had explained about how the technical and difficulty influence the singer to be picked as best vocal awards. The ones which show more technical skills and higher difficulty value will have higher chance to win vocal awards.
And finally, the singer who have crack voice (terkucil) win the vocal awards. Joke of the year😂
This is no doubt an epic performance by Ernie Zakri. She’ll continue to shine and slay like a real superstar. #respect

I am one of the choir singing tenor parts 6:33 during the epic performance. Its an honour to be parts of something so big and powerful. Ernie’s vibe was so strong during the performance, i had goosebumps singing throughout the performance! so damn good!
I truly believed she deserved the Best Vocal awards but unfortunately she got robbed! even the judges cant give a concrete reason why Ernie didn’t win best vocal.
nonetheless this performance is in another level, she needs to aim the international market. Indonesians music scene are more mature towards music taste and i hope she will be recognised there.

Macam mana Ajai boleh tidur lena lepas ni yaa sebab aku yakin kalau dia tengok semula playback Ernie punya performance versi digital bukan analog seperti di axiata arena secara terperinci aku rasa dia dah salah pemilihan dan berasa tidak adil bagi Ernie.

I have to say that Erni's vocal isn't something Malaysian prefer to listen to. She's beyond expectations and internationally vocalist. Same goes to Shila Amzah who is succeed in China.

Peter Teddy not as strong, just yet. Ernie will continue to improve. But sohyang’s mix is still so much fuller and she can control it as chesty, balanced, or heady anytime she wants. But Ernie’s mid belt is soo good. The resonance is out of this world.
