Hi bro, don’t get yourself confused, just sharing, Malay language is the official spoken language of Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. Even me Singaporean Malay speak official bahasa Melayu other than English. Bahasa Melayu also widely spoken in the Malay Archipelago that include the Philippines and southern Thailand. The difference is the slang and accent. So when u listen to Malaysian and Indonesian songs, its all in Malay language (Bahasa Melayu).

zaki nasir Yes it’s called Christmas Island. It’s an Australian external territory. Britain transferred authority over Christmas Island from Singapore to Australia in 1958. The Malays in Christmas Island were my fellow Singaporeans. They still speak with Singaporean Malay accent. Kindly Google 😊

This song "Ku Bersuara" means I'm Speaking Out, which portrays the screams and abused women who are trying to stand up for themselves.
This AJL is "Anugerah Juara Lagu" which translates to Song Champion Award, kind of like awarding the best song of the year(?).
She didnt win any award that night but the world sings her praises.
    She's freaking amazing.

The difference between indonesian language and malaysian is similar to the difference in British language vs American english... So its very similar.

  • @shzltx1821

Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia, Brunei, Southern Thai, Singaporean Malay are all using the same root of language which is ‘Malay Language’ (Bahasa Melayu). Not only these countries, Cham people of Cambodia also have similarities with the Malay Language which practically from the same root too. And yes, not to forget, Tagalog Language too from the same root of Austronesian (Malayo-Polynesian) Language, my dear Filipinos before the Spanish colonise. Sinigang, salamat, patupat, mata, etc. The history of Asean is kinda interesting tho. We’re all divided yet actually we are connected.

Well, Bahasa means Language. Malay/Melayu refers to the Malay archipelago/Nusantara. Bahasa Melayu is an influence and adoption of a several words from different languages especially widely used in the straits of Malacca (also now, known as the state of Malacca, Malaysia) . The world most important and strategic port long time ago which makes it as a lingua franca. Our language in this malay archipelago sounds similar and some words we use are the same. That's why Tagalog and Bahasa have several same words and meaning hehe

Indonesia is the one who actually use the Malay Language (Bahasa Melayu) that is originalated from Malaysia. Malaysia = Malay. Most of Indonesians are Javanis, not Malay, but that country use Malay Language as their National Language. Do you know that? That is why Malaysia and Indonesia or rather Brunei, Singapore, South Thailand and Mindanao Philipines speaks the same languange - that is 'Malay Language' from Malaysia.

Bahasa Indonesia is Malay language, and they can't call it Bahasa Melayu but renamed it to Bahasa Indonesia for nationalist reason. But the first president, Sukarno, has instill national pride in its citizens that the young people in Indonesia does not even know the history of the language. Their pride has ruined their knowledge of their past.

Malaysians and Indonesians can understand each other if that makes sense. The generic ‘malay language’ is the most spoken language in SEA.

Dian Restuati first and foremost, ‘Bahasa’ is ‘language’, ‘Melayu’ is Malay. So your comment is a total wrong, because Bahasa Melayu is a bahasa (language) too. If ur comment is between Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia, yes ure correct, something like American English and British English. But both Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia are from the same root which is Bahasa Melayu (Malay Language)
